I can play the tutorial and all the other offline game types. I want to play online and connect to a server, I get a black screen after loading. the mouse works and the console too. I can disconnect from server and am back on the main menu.
I have read all options in the previous posts. I installed ns2 on a fresh installed win 8.1. Before I had formatted it still works.
Download and updated every Windows 8.1 updates from Windows Update.
1. I deleted the game from steam. then deleted SteamApps/Common/Natural selections 2 folder and %AppData%/Natural Selections 2 folder.
2. stopped cloud sync
3. Reinstalled the game
4. Verify Game Cache and running the game again.
5. Change from DX11 to DX9
6. tested with the lowest graphic settings (AntiAliasing in the amd control panel says: is performed by application)
7. also i deinstalled all new drivers and the av program an other tools/programs
The tech_support.zip follows this afternoon when i'm back at home.

Black screen or consistency check failure? Because the second one is known and we are working on it.
Black screen and spam with EmptyPackets...
How many servers have this issue? Just the two?
Can you try a smaller player count server that's under 150 latency?
but the fritz box has only one lan connection and i need the wlan of the linksys so I have to bring the linksys to run. it makes no difference whether I use the pc via lan or wlan connect to the linksys.
All you can do for now is to port-range trigger 27020 udp and make sure UPnP is enabled.
