It's fun and all until it happens to yourself.
I play subnautica for a few months now - I never had this issue and was always wondering why so many seem to have this problem.
But when I started my 6th game on a completely new save, all of sudden my lifepod was drifting too. I never experienced this in my last 5 saves and I always repaired it.
Thank god I was able to build my base and fabricator when my lifepod started to drift to the dunes..
Mine's at it again. I just went off on an almost-fruitless search for silver (JEEZ!!! Silver has become rare in this update, compared to how much of it you need, yet I'm swimming in gold that I haven't even needed any of yet), and I got back to find my lifepod had drifted 1100m off to the west and was still heading west at a good clip.
Fortunately, I managed to find JUST enough silver to finally build a fabricator. With no habitat blueprint, my base is cramped, but now that I have a fabricator, I can survive there if the pod heads off to the second star on the right to find its destiny.

I know what you mean and I always repaired my lifepod, still at my last save the lifepod drifted the first time ever and I already had repaired it

Float away.
My lifepod floats away...
Together from the start
Now we will be far apart...
*shuts up*
I'm sure someone's gonna kill me for that, but I couldn't help myself... X_X
