<div class="IPBDescription">it's here. tons of fixes. w00t.</div> After not having the patience for a fixed queen model to be released, I went ahead and fixed a lot of stuff as I saw fit. The most important features about this release are: The Queen is now in the proper placement! (less clipping through surfaces!) and the Queen no longer sits motionless. She moves as though she is alive! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> I went ahead and figured out the basics of animating models and I animated it myself.
Now, the next time you hear the voice say, "We need builders," you can say "oh, was that the Queen?" <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
If you're interested in how I got the queen to be in motion all the time, I included some design notes in the readme file. A special thanks to Ollj for adding the bones and to g3n for releasing his version of the Queen and providing me with the inspiration to do this one after it had been sitting in the closet for months. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

- Hive supports have been restructured and replaced
- Queen model now fits in the proper hitbox (Queen no longer clips through walls, floors or ceilings on most maps)
- Gaping hole glitch in right leg has been patched up
- Some animation sequences slowed down to add a more realistic feel
- Fixed hole on the front of Queen's head

I got them to work. You have to rename them hiveinfo.spr. The only bad thing I found was that the purple part wasn't transparent in-game. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> Other than that, VERY cool.

it's neither, it's entity placement in the map, no way to fix it unless you get the mappers to change their maps (not likely, but it COULOD happen)

Well I was playing around with it and I noticed that it only shows up when you play server on the net. I made my own server and it wasn't there either. But when I played on someone else's, it was there. I got the purple background working and I recolored the queen (I think I liked yours better though). I also added the translucent frame.

Working on stuff till 4 in the morning makes me stupid.

I used the "Alphatest" setting, where the last color in the palette is the transparency color.
It has no birth no death no building or deploy... just wiggle and wiggle some more.
Both of you need to put youre models in a box and kick it down some stairs untill you get an esthetic and dynamically animated model. a mix between the 2 would be incredible.

If you would read the readme file, you would have seen that it says that some animation sequences have not been completed.
If you look at the default hive model, you will see that for the majority of the time, in the game.... it is completely motionless. This is because after the hive runs certain animation sequences, it doesn't automatically call up the idle animation sequences. It is just sits there, motionless. IMO, a motionless Queen alien model completely sucks. Here are the design notes I made that are in the readme file:

Design Notes:
With the way NS treats the animation sequences for the Hive, it is redundant to have a functioning "birth" animation. The reason is outlined here: When a game of NS begins, the hive runs the "spawn" animation sequence. This animation runs once and then the hive sits motionless until an alien player dies. When this happens, the hive runs the "birth" animation sequence once. After this sequence is run, the hive no longer runs anymore "idle" animation sequences and it just sits motionless. Having a functional birth animation sequence would mean that the Alien Queen would sit in a petrified state for 95% of the game, so, the birth sequence has been replaced with the looping idle animation sequence. In doing this, the Alien Queen Hive will appear alive and life-like throughout the entire game!

So, unless the NS team decides to change the hard-coded routines of the animation sequences in the game, there's nothing that we can do besides what we have already done.
