    my only gripe is trying to purposefully CUT game time by half on average

    WHY?!?!?! long games were ALWAYS the most fun....period

    Yes. I truly like those 1:30 hour games where marines have two hives locked down in 5 minutes and the aliens are screaming to get the marines to arse them selves up to leaving their little bases and attack the last hive. Long games are always the best. Period.

    Movement chamber giving energy isn't good enough though, compared to what def and sens will do. You really won't need more energy until hive 2, so 1 hive use for it would be nice too. Maybe faster spawn when near hive.

    Ok _I_ was being sarcastic. Were you? Heh, so hard to tell. I do not believe long games are good unconditionally, of course.


    Anyhoots, I sure hope more than 3 new maps will in the update. But with many old ones tweaked plus large changes, it will be a new experience. I am looking forward to see the changes to the lerk very much. Alas the changelog doesn't mention anything about if onos and fades will be available as hive 1 critters, as it was suggested by someone long time ago. Presumably not then.

    It would be cool if when you killed a sensory chamber that was cloaking some surrounding chambers the ones closest to the chamber uncloaked first and the furthest one, like a pulse or something. And when a sensory chamber is built the 'pulse goes the other way, with the closest chambers cloaking last.

    And while I'm feeling somewhat talkitive. I think the electrified turret factory is a bit gimicky...

    - More diversity of tactics, along with more play-time at the 2 and 3 hive stages

    Thats a BIG yay. I can see the epic battles of HA vs. Onos' coming!

    - Fewer stalemates

    Also a big yay, not as big as the first, but still big <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    - Simpler resource model (multiple gorges will be viable)

    This should fix so much problems. No more whining on Gorges being bad on Kharaa side. Guess you can't do anything about Marines whining to comm.

    - Faster and more intense gameplay (average game time in v1.04 is 22 minutes, v1.1 target is around half that, though epic games still possible)

    Thats bad <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> I really liked long games. I hope Flay isn't trying to please other mods *cough*CS*cough* players.

    - Commander improvements
    - Hotgroups for soldiers and structures (soldiers are notified, "You are squad four"). Hotgroup icons blink when under attack.
    - Warcraft III style "idle peon" messages
    - Always draw player names for commander
    - Much better hotkey support (fully customizable)
    - Select all players button/bind

    I don't need to tell you how awesome it is <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> Finally commanding becomes less irritating experience. Hopefully "de-select" will get in.

    - Alien upgrade improvements (all paths viable)
    - Sensory chambers are now automatically cloaked, and they cloak other alien structures in range (including hives, resource towers, offensive chambers, etc.)
    - Movement chambers now give aliens energy, like defensive chambers give health. Unsure if teleport ability will stay.
    - Silence upgrade now silences movement and attacks (it's incredibly eerie)

    HUGE Yay! Although the movement chamber ability(gives energy) seems pretty useless in one hive stage.

    - HLTV support (including first-person view while waiting to respawn)

    No longer boring waits in spawn-queue

    - VALVe Anti-Cheat (VAC) and Cheating Death (CD) support

    End of lamers!

    - Changes to tournament mode to support CAL

    Thats a good thing also, though I don't play tourny mode too often.

    - Collision improvements (no "jittering" when crouching on structures, structure hitboxes much more accurate, etc.)

    Another very desperately needed improvement

    - Skulk bite and machine gun muzzle flash obscure view less

    I guess it's nice, although Im already used to the current system

    - Improved demo record/playback functionality (particles, scoreboard, etc.). Demos recorded before v1.1 will still work in v1.1.

    I don't watch too much demos either, but good thing too

    - Improved alien pop-up menu is simpler and more intuitive, context-sensitive cursor

    Simpler? Its pretty simple now <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> well, you'r the boss. You know what best

    - All known exploits fixed (frame-rate advantage, etc.)

    - Fewer "stuck" issues with Onos and blink

    Also a big yay. Hopefully fewer issues with Gorge too, since he's the one I have most problems with. And you could get rid of the Blink once and for all anyway <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    - New Onos abilities allow him to stomp the ground to stun nearby enemies, then devour enemies whole (they are slowly digested, during which time they can be saved by killing the creature)

    Devour: ?ber yay
    Stomp: I kinda liked the paralyze, but its still a yay <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    - Skulk model orients properly when running on wall! Possible option for transforming first-person view

    - New effects: sentries smoke when they fire, alien structures splatter goo when destroyed

    Sentries smoke when they fire? So they smoke when they go down? Also alien chamber splatter sounds a lot of fun;
    "Joe, you have goo all over youself!"
    "Wasted a chamber farm 5mins ago"

    - Updated existing maps for balance, performance and flow, and new maps (at least three)

    Ahhhhh


    So my comments consisted mainly on screaming "YAY" after every point, im still excited <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> In all and all: Can....not....wait....much....longer!
