Again, Bots, please chill out. That's coil-the-moderator speaking. Here's a quote: <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->If you have a problem regarding the rights to a particular model, its inclusion in a pack, proper recognition of the creator, etc -- <b>DO NOT air your dirty laundry on the forums!</b> Contact the person in question PRIVATELY and try to sort it out - frequently, things like this are simply a matter of oversight. If there is still a problem, take it to a higher authority... ...If there is a post on these forums featuring stolen work, inform a moderator and we will lock the offending post (provided the evidence supports your claim). Again, DO NOT flame the individual responsible! There are more intelligent and effective ways of solving problems.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> That quote is from my <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=19&t=27974' target='_blank'>Gentle Suggestion</a> thread stickied at the top of the forums.
I'm not going to lock this thread, as there are other, legitimate contributions being posted in it (e.g. Jim's). However, I think it's safe to say that Duo won't be releasing that particular skin any time soon.
Again, please remain rational about this. It will be taken care of.
...did Bots get flamed when he didn't puthed me in the credits of his PR ? NO. That was a model , and this was just a screenshot and i almost get the bullet? Did anyone get flamed becaus he used my model (...) , didn't puthed me in the credits? NO. Like nothingham says , it's officially Daphisto model. God you people make me so **** !
Skin looks nice so far (except the stone thing <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> )

I'm really ok actually... its just that I've run into this type of stuff in many other situations, so I've been somewhat 'battle hardened' to folk who steal the work of others. I apologize to everyone who I offended by attacking Duo so ruthlessly, indeed this forum is a lot more aggression sensitive than other forums I visit (deadlok, dod, etc.). The matter, I hope, has been settled between Duo and I.
I'm not sure I'll finish, I'm getting pretty frustrated with parts I've forgotten and I can't get the metal right <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
I'll be blunt... Your highlights suck! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
No really... you made them like way too far from the edges of the gun's receiver to look good.
Aa for the metal, a quick way to do it is to fill the part with 31 31 31, add clouds, sharpen once and dodge with big brushes with low intensity going to progressively smaller brushes with higher intensity.
Is there any way to apply this skin to the model without 3dsmax? I've wanted to learn to skin so I figured I'd start with this but I have no way of seeing how it looks o_o
<a href='http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/hlmv/' target='_blank'>Half-Life model viewer</a> Then you load up the .mdl, go to texture, then export/import the .bmp from/to the model
NOTE: The skin has to be 256 colors, but what I do is temporarily change the skin to 16.7 million when I work on it, then change it back to 256 when im done.
EDIT: Oh thats only for CHANGING skins, but to accually apply it/adjust it you need Milkshape 3d, 3dsmax, or any other modeling program.
Snoopy, you have to understand that since these meshes are grouped with a 3ds file.. the only way to apply the skins is with 3dsmax. I would also like to mention that 3dsmax has a gigantic learning curve, and that not everyone knows how to apply skin meshes to 3ds files (including myself).
you can use deep exploration <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
hehe it used to be called 3d exploration, I believe <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Too bad 3ds max is $1000 <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->.
Mmm... Me holds my very nice original CD of 3DS Max... Why do i have it? I can't even model <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Great work Jim and Bots!!! Looks good!!! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
skins don't show up in my ms3d if I import .3ds D:
anyway, I've spoke to some people and I'm gonna start the skin again tomorrow, hopefully it will look a little better <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
you might aslo want to right click on the 3D window, and select "textured" mode... so you can see the skin on the model...
beginning Milkshape and Smoothing groups tutorials will soon apear on T2K... <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
and if my bos gets off his butt, we'll have some Max tuts soon enough!

Then just start over again.

giving it a shot.. not done of course.. I don't know how to put textures on 3ds files in max because I have no experience with the program.. but meh.
lol!

Deep Exploration?
Sounds like a pr0n movie..
$3500 actually.
just get <a href='http://www.milkshape3d.com' target='_blank'>Milkshape 3D</a> and IMPORT the .3ds and put all the skin files in the same folder.
simple enough no?
