A brand spanking new TSA ship just landed on the dusty outpost's landing pad. One could see the signs of battle just by looking out the window. There were bullet holes, and explosion pockmarks, and various shellcasings and empty clips along with weapons of all sorts, but, there were no bodies at all. Or blood for that matter. It seemed as if all the bodies that had to have been there were......taken. This disturbed Pettyofficer Jack Keindrich. He had seen some of the other sites where these things attacked, and they were usually very messy.
After what seemed like an eternity the ship's commander decided it was safe enough to open the port door and let the loading ramp down. As soon as the ramp hit ferrocrete 15 heavily armed marines ran ddown it and took up positions along the landing pad. They spread out in such a way as there was much open space bewteen them to allow good opportunities to shoot kharra forces. Finally the all clear was given and the rest of the ship unloaded.
Jack stood there with his LMG, fidgeting a bit. He was really nervous. The last squad that was sent to this place reported high numbers of kharra troops. The only reason they were being sent back was because of "important research documents." In otherwords, some politician left his lunch and they needed it back. They wheeled out a command chair and started to get it online. As the techs were working, the other squad members started handing out the few heavy weapons they brought along. All told, they had 5 Shotguns, 3 HMG's, and a single grenade launcher. Just his luck Jack was the grenade expert in the squad.
After a few hours of intense activity, they had a small outpost set up. The comand chair went up, and teh commander stepped in and dropped the infantry portal, the armory, and the turret factory with turrets. After all this, and after filling their ammo belts with extra clips, they went out on recon missions. Jack and 2 of the HMGers, and 3 of the SG's were sent first.
They entered a small maintenance door and started walking at a slow pace. All the while they were scared wittless due to the noises of the cooling ans settling Outpost. The noises masked the sound of kharra and marine alike. As they walked along, they found various signs of small pitched battles. Everyonce in a while, they found a few weapons and no sing of battle, and that got them worried. After a few more minutes of walking, they found a dead end. It was a blast door sealed by a welder in what appeared to be the old base camp. Remains of buildings were easily seen, but what one could not see so easliy were the remains of humans. Only a few tattered peices of cloth sat idly on the ground. Also there were signs of explosions, and much gunfire. But no kharra.
They radioed to their commander and told him their position. He decided to make a smaller outpost there. He dropped a phasegate at both their location and at their main base. While they built the phase gate, they had the HMG's guard. All of a sudden, there was a commotion over the radio. What jack heard scared the living hell out of him.
" Holy SH** it a god d*** fade. Shoot it, Shoot it. *gunfire* *screams* *explosions* Oh my god, it got freddie! Shoot the ****. Die you son of a ......*static*"
As the last act, the commander dropped them health and ammo, and he dropped a single lone jetpack through a special technology that they were experimenting, called personal phase travel. This allowed the commander to drop certain massed objects any where he would like.
As they stood there wondering what had happened to their comrades, they also though of the possiblity of them being trapped here forever. They grabbed some of the health packs, all of the ammo packs, and drew straws to see who got the Jetpack. It was Jack.

good so far, I'm guessing you want us to add our own parts of this story...
if thats what you mean then this could get intersting, becuase the fan fic forum would actually put some effort into it, instead of having one of those "3 lines per post" story that everyone adds on. hmm interesting.
and whats RP mean?
And yeah, id like you guys to add to the story, just cause it makes it more interesting if we get input form many people. So go ahead, post some followups.

Its was a few hours since the squad lost contact with their main base. Petty Officer Jack Keindrich was starting to get scared. His human nature was saying run like mad, but his Frontiersman training said, they'd only get you faster. He was paniced but calm. They decided they might as well scope out the area and see if they could find anything useful. So they started searching the corridors and passageways. Every once in a while they would come across a weapon or two lying on teh ground from some battle years ago with these things. Usually it was empty and probably why the person died. But sometimes they would find a weapon with no ammo gone at all, so they would take it. As such they continued their search of their surrounding area.
A few hours later, they were getting tired and hungry. They decided to take shifts sleeping, and all crammed into a small maintenance room they had found. There was enough room for all to fit and to lay down. Why they chose this one was the simple fact that no vents lead to this room at all. With this in mind they drew straws to see who would watch. Jack was picked to be the first on watch. He settled into a comfortable position and stared at the door.
With a sudden start, he realized he had fallen asleep. Jack looked around and saw that all was fine. He didnt know how long eh was asleep for but he didnt want to go back to sleep on his watch. So he busied himself with checking his weapons. After a little while he ran out of things to check. So he sat there in silence. It was then that he had one of his greatest fears of his life. He heard a noise in the hall outside.
*tick tick tick tick tick* To him it sounded like someone tapping a pencil on a desk, but he knew from his training it was one of them. It was hunting for them. Somehow they knew Jack was here. He peered through the small grate in the door, and got more scared every second he sat there. All of a sudden, Whoosh, a figure flew past the grate and heard a tell tale scream made by those things when they leap after prey. Thats when he realized that Ricardo was missing from the group. And he instantly knew where he was when he heard the scream and gunfire. He wanted to burst out and help but he had no idea if there were more things about. So he stayed put and silently prayed for ricardo even though he knew it was in vain. The others woke up and he muffled their shouts by putting his finger in front of his mouth. As he looked in their eyes he saw pure terror, like a little kid who stay awake at night from noises and thinks there a monster under his bed. Only difference is that there IS a monster under their bed.
Several sleepless hours later, they decide to venture out and find ricardo.... or whats left of him, and also see if they can find their way back to the ship, because they are in dire need of food and possible evac. As they slowly open the door, they see the signs of poor ricardos battle with the aliens. a few bullet holes, a few scratch marks, and a bit of blood, but no body. What disturbs them the most are the burn holes in teh floor and walls, tell-tale of acid.

It was, like, silent. Sure, he could all hear the humming of the spaceship engines, he could all hear the life-support systems, but that didnt remove the silence. He just stood there, looking at what would probably be the closest thing Ricardo got to a grave. It was clear that there had never even been a fight.
In the middle of the mess room, by the table where people had eaten their lunch every day for years on end, was the remains from a very different kind of lunch, lying on the floor in the silence. Along with the blood, and a couple of dishes and ripped-off armor pieces, was the grate from the roof vent, showing for sure why there had never been time for gunfire. He just stood there, like there was no time, no universe, no life, no past, no future, staring at the blood of what had once been his friend for a very short time. He remembered the past week, remembered how Ricardo had taught him to clean his gun, how Ricardo had told them stories about his earlier ventures into infested areas, while they all wished he was excaggerating, which he obviously hadn't been. Suddenly came a memory of the burial of Ricardo's earlier squadmate, the one whose body was actually recovered. He remembered no name, he never even knew Ricardo's friend, and not untill now had the burial meant anything to him. Jack remembered the burial, remembered trying to avoid yawning, to a...
"JACK!!!!!!!!"
It was Kenji, seemingly he had been standing there thinking for quite a while, at least a few minutes, too long for the situation.
"You got to stop dreaming all the time, we need you in the real world, ****"
Jack realized he was right, there was no time for this. "Let's go", he mumbled, then he walked into the mess room, never really taking his eye off the blood. They continued out the other side, all of them wishing never to have to return.
Jack's mind was once again on the job, he new what he was looking for. He assumed command, something he, an hour ago, would never have dreamt of doing. He thought he knew what they were looking for. He needed some place where THEY were on home ground, somewhere where they could stand up to aliens without the battle being a question of who died rather than if anyone did. He walked on down the hallways trough the ship command area, looking for a live command circuit. He checked all corners and rooms briefly, knowing that the important ones would be covered by the squad, by his squad. He walked past the maintenance areas, where the ships systems where checked, untill he reached the main command bridge.
He was looking at the instruments, trying to figure out which one of the blinking buttons on the hopelessly outdated systems that would help him, when he realized something was wrong. He turned around just in time to see the yellow lights heading his way, then he jumped........

When he landed he found a small maintenance robot running around. His squad mates looked at him in disbelief. " Sorry guys, i just got freaked out" he said. He turned back to the console and looked over the buttons. There was a bit of smeared blood on it, but not much. Finally he decided to jsut press buttons, being it a hopeless situation anyways. He picked a nice round button glowing an irridescant green. Mashing it down he waited, and nothing happened. Then he picked a glowing orange button nearby. Mashed on it and waited. A slow rumbling was heard from far within the bowels of the outpost. He wondered what he did as multiple lights lit and other went off on the console. he went to teh next one and Mashed on a button marked Ext.93. As he pushed it he heard a sound like a laugh, only very throaty and kind of like a person with a very bad cold. He turned jsut in time to see Jeremey get his throat torn out by a weird dog-like thing. He stood there in pure shock at what he had just seen. Then it turned and ran out of the room through the hole in the door it had come in. And it was gone before Jeremey even hit the ground, gugrling all the time, clutching his throat where his vocal cords had once been. Suddenly Jack snapped out of his trance and realized THAT was what they hd been sent here to kill. And the thing was a born killer, with claw like feet, and teeth about an inch long each, with the gait of a small dog used to running. And it was very agile looking. He ran over to Jeremey, and put his hand over his throat. Jeremy tried to talk, but Jack shushed him. Jeremey talked anyway. "Please,.......T....T...Tell my Fa...mily...........i ...loved..them very...." Then he died. And Jack almost screamed in rage and sadness. But he didnt becauce he was in charge of the squad, and if he lost his head, they would also, and then they were all dead, so he held his tounge. And cryed soflty for the fallen warrior. He grabbed Jeremy's HMG, and slung it over his back right next to his Grenade launcher. He looked over at Johnson, who had Ricardo's shotgun, and said "Lets find these ****, and send them back to the depths of hell wehre they came from." Johnson only nodded.

"these intruders must be cleansed!"
the hivemind screamed, he chuckled and dropped from the ceiling, biting once at the creatures neck as he fell. Warm blood spurted all over him, but he didn't care. The creature at the console stood in shock and awe, he didn't stay to find out what happened as he turned and ran out of the room, claws clicking as he went.

10:25 Galactic time:
They were out searching for the alien that killed Jeremy, and had come across multiple signs of infestation, but no lifeforms. Jack was getting rather annoyed becuase they had lost 2 members of the squad and had inflicted 0 damage to the alien infestation. As they walked about, they looked for signs of human life, and a possible way to escape the carnage that was the outpost. They came to the mess hall and decided to rest in here. Jack looked around and saw many plates and untensils strewn about in dissorderly fashion. Jack went to the kitchen to check for some food. He found all teh cabinets bare except for the occasional scratch mark. He checked teh pantry anf found the same thing. Finally he went to the fridge and opened it. He found old decayed food of various sorts. It turns out the fridge had broken down some time ago, and all the food inside had spoiled. Jack got frustrated and kicked the fridge. It made a semi-loud twang sound and he didnt think that was right. He opened the fridge again adn saw he had knocked out a small tray, wich underneath held a small key. He stood there, puzzled as he stared at the key. Finally he picked it up and examined it. It had a small tag attached that said backup armory. "Holy S***" he said out loud to no one in particular. "What is it?" Kenji asked. "I just found a key to something called backup armory. I think it hold some good stuff if we can find it, they wouldnt have it locked if it didnt. So i think we should go find it." And so they set out on a mission to find the armory.
Somewhere on the other side of the outpost a single lone skulk ran about sniffing at the ground tracking the human pests. They had come here, adn they had been killed, but a few remained. This made the skulk mad becuase he was not used to losing. He ran around and sniffed looking for certain vents that would lead him to the place where humans were most prominant. After a while of running he came to a place where he knew humans ate at one point. He saw nothing but he smelled fear and honed in on it. As he rounded a corner he stopped and saw three of the humans looking at him, and leaped to kill one more. Then there was a sudden flash of light and he felt no more.
Jack was estatic after killing the alien. It was their first kill on this damned outpost. He had sent the rodent back to hell where it came from, and he felt good. They continued their search for the backup armory and got alot of ground covered. Until finally they came back to teh spot where they first landed and saw the pure carnage that had ensued. Bodies, fires, shell casings, Broken buildings, and blackened corpses. The drop ship had a huge gaping hole in the side of it, and was unusable. Their spirits dropped and their fears got worse as they thought of what could do this kind of destruction. Suddenly they heard a small growl come from the far left of the base. And they saw a pair of yellow orbs glowing in the shadows.

It could only be described as fricking huge. It looked like a cross between an elephant and a **** off rhino. It lumbered out of the shadows within the wreakage of the dropship awakwardly with a limp. The creature had apparently taken a lot of fire, as it was obviously only inches from death.
"Oh my freaking god. Its an Onos." Jim Ruger said.
"Excuse me?" Jack said, looking at him with a puzzled face.
"You don't know what it is obviously. Haven't been on enough missions in the deep quarantine zone. Its a huge...huge...bull-rhino-like-thing that is like freaking tank. You could waste a drum of HMG into the thing and it won't freaking die. The best thing to do when ya see 'em is to run like hell, cuz that's all you can do if your not suicidal."
"So we better start running then..." Jack muttered, raising his hand to do the "fall back" signal.
"Nah, this one looks like its been **** over a couple times. Watch."
Ruger then brought his LMG up to shoulder level, aimed for the creatures arse, as it wasn't looking or aware of their precense, and let lose hell. During the first 20 rounds, the creature reared up, obviously disconforted by the barrage against its tush. 30 rounds later, Jim's weapon clicked empty, and the Onos was on the ground letting out its death groan. Ruger responded to this with a grim smile.
"Well...that was...sadistically creative." An astonished Jack commented.
"Remember this well. You don't see many of them fall over and god damn die too often." He replied as he slammed a clip home and cocked the primer back.
After their little encounter, the squad was surveying the area of the wreakage for anything of use. The only thing they were turning up were pieces of mangled weapons and creatively distorted structures. Anything that could of been deemed "useful" was the observatory that was departed from its dish, which was lying a good 6 meters away from it flattened. Even though it was useless at the time, with the right parts, it could be repaired and a distress beacon could possibly be set up. However, the only place that could have these parts it the backup armory, which still eluded them to no avail. Sticking the the remains of the observatory into his technician's rucksack, they trekked on, back into the depths of hell for a seeming lost hope in the abyss.

*drip*
*drip*
Jack felt something on his cheek. the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end. he looked up. there was nothing. nothing at all. another drip hit him on his face. the drip came from nothing...
in one swift movment, he pulled jeremy's hmg from off his back, his finger finding the trigger. as he swept the gun over his head, he squeezed. red hot lead ricocheted off the metal, then, one instant later, the sound changed from pings to thumps. bits of green goop spattered everywhere as the hmg continued its arc.
Jack stepped out of the way as a dead skulk fell from the ceiling, de-cloaking on the way down, hitting the floor with a squishy thud.
Kenji looked in amazement.
"how did you..."
hje never finished his sentance. he was thrown to the ground as Jack hurled himself at him. a brwon blur flew over flew over their heads, leaving behind a cloud of green gas.
Johnson emptied his shotgun into the rapidly retreating lerk. it jerked from the blast, and spiralled to the ground. johnson ran after it, barrels blazing. it released a strange yellow cloud. the shotgun appeared to have no effect. the lerk chuckled and flew into a vent.

"What the...How the...Why didn't it...AAAARRRRRRRRHH!!!!!!!", Johnson raged, throwing his supposedly defective shotgun down on the ground, "I swear the TSA is getting cheap on stuff. I mean, fine, don't give us enough weaponry to start out and kick **** properly, but i coulda got killed if got rushed and had to defend myself with that!"
Putting his hand on his shoulder Ben Snyder said, "Johnson, chill! Its just one lerk! I mean like, what can one of those little skermy things do anyway?"
*PISHHHH!*
"GAS!" Jack screamed, hitting the deck and pulling his standard issue M-190A4 ChemBio Gas Mask over his face.
"Oh *cough* ****!" Ben rasped. He was fumbling with his web gear to get the mash when he broke the a plexiglass lens trying to get it untangled.
"Put it on anyway!" Jack muffled out of his gas mask. After seeing that Ben was going into shock, he grabbed the mask and pulled if over his face. He then produced a role of duct tape and wraped the broken lens over a few times, then pressing the release latch on the mask which blew out the contaminated air inside, replaceing with with filtered air.
"Damn...*cough*," Snyder said as he removed the mask when the cloud cleared, "Thank you sir."
"Yea, just don't freaking get pessimistic when your mask breaks. C'mon, lets jet before that damn bird thing comes back and desides to release its bowels on us again." Jack retorted as he motioned the squad one way.

after what seemed like hours of trudging through dark corridoors, the squad saw a light up ahead. approaching cautiously, they found the remains of an old marine base. the comm chair and most of the other buildings were unusable, but the observatory seemed to be fully functioning. all it was missing was a dish.
"hey johnson, remember that dish you pulled from the old base? do you still have it?"
Johnson pulled the battered dish out from his backpack.
"its here alright, and it looks like it will work. we have no way of attaching it without a welder though. we need to find that backup armoury"
"even if we do find the armoury, how are we going to get a welder without a comm chair?"
Jack didn't like to admit it, but Kenji was right. only the comm can order items from a building, and if they had a comm chair, they wouldnt be in this mess. maybe if they could just get inside it, hotwire it to give it what they need. He looked at his HUD. they didn't have much res left, they would only get one try.

After hours of meddeling with the CC he turned and said sadly " i cant get it, i need more tools. I assume the ones i need are in that damned backup armory. We need to find that thing if we are goin to get out of here alive." Jack turned from his guard duty, because even though he was in charge, he was still a soldier. "Well, tap into the wall somewhere and see if we can pull up a map. It will help to no end."
Sitting here on guard duty, Jack started thinking about his home, his little sister Catherine, and how she was growing up. His parents had both died in a tragic Hovercar accident. They were goin to an vid-opera, and were hit by an intoxicated driver. Their car lost its cushion of air and slammed into a tree, instantly killing his father, and leaving his mother trapped in the car, fataly wounded. When he got there, they said she had very little time to live, and that he should talk to her. He went over and saw her sitting in the seat, and all looked fine inside the car except the engine wich had come crashing through the dashboard. He went over to his mother and looked at her. She looked at him and said "Hi honey, how are you?" At this point he began crying. "Mom i dont want you to die! Please dont leave me." His mom looked stricken and said "Dont worry about me, im goin to be with your father, but, i need you to take care of catherine, you are all she has now. So please be strong and never run away. Take care" And with that she died. He stared, crying, and then they lead him away. As they were leading him, he past the man who was driving the other car. He was sobbing uncontrolable, saying he was sorry, to noone in particular. Jack rushed over to him and started hitting him, sobbing, yelling "Why me! why my family, why my mom and dad! Why Why Why?" The medics rushed over and pulled him off as the man could only stare. Finally after a little longer of crying jack went over and gave the man a hug and said he was sorry for hitting him and he forgave him for kiling his parents. Jack only did this because he started thinking of Catherine, and what kind of role-model he would need to be.
"JACK!" Kenji yelled at him. "What?" he said back. "You were staring, were in an infestation zone, daydreaming isnt allowed jack, we could allget killed." Jack looked sheepishly at the squad "Im sorry guys." "Hey Roland, hows the hacking goin?" jack yelled over to Roland who was in a terminal. "Give me 20 more minutes." All of a sudden, there was a raspy type growl from the hallway, and somehow Jack figured that 20 minutes was too long.
*blam* *blam* *blam* *blam* green spots of blood where seen, as the lerk let that hellish yellow gas out again, and flew away.
Jack was furious, God damn, that creature has some kind of gas that stops our bullets... "How's tha map coming?"
"SUYF Jack, I'm working on it, and those spikes in my back don't make it any easier" Jack looks around, and sees little holes in the armor of Max.
"damn, we gotta get to that armory, they may have a special issue voogru-armory But I guess that's to much to ask"
As jack put's in another clip, he hears the clicking of skulks in the vent next to him, he signals his team to target the exit of the ventilation shaft and waits...
