    I worked on it a bit and this is how it is for now until I work on it later. I need to know how to make a ring instead of a cylinder =\. So unti i know how, it will look something like this.

    ya, ok, ill go do that now..... what about the ring.... shall i try to make that a bit smoother, or should that be alright... coz if i cant get 3ds Max to like me, i cant figure out how to smooth it properly....(im using G-Max for the moment..)

    The ring you had was good, it was just the pylon crystal itself that neeed re-doing.

    Right, heres the (hopefully) final version of it... all it needs now is a skin mesh, and a skin.... animations should be complete (its only the ring spinning around the crystal)...

    [edit2] just another side note... the model itself was done in G-Max... if you have 3dsMax, i THINK you can load it up in there... as for MS3D, i dont have a clue, youll have to do some searchin on that [/edit2]

    Ok, good sides diamond there. Now, you need a skin that really brings out the sides in it to make it more of a crystal. Then it would be perfect. Maybe a skin that has different color blue's on each side to make the sides constrast more. Other than that great job!

    I've been working on the shield battery for quite a while and I think this might be the final version. Thanks to Jamil I tried using a ring for the center like it should be instead of a flat cylinder but it didn't look quite right. This is what it looks like finally. I need someone to skin it please =).

    i read through all the building ideas posts and i think its rather strange to use buildings for medpacks and ammopacks. Next thing you youll carry a forge for an hmg.


    Pylon should be a turret factory for sure. a pylon with cannons around it would look great.

    dont use normal non combat buildings for siege cannons. Make your own protoss looking thing for that?

    Check out starcraft ghost for new protoss stuff.

    Ok here it is. Probably the crappiest skinning I ever did (also the second so bear with me). I have to re-skin the middle because the middle disk is black. Something weird happened. Ok here it is.

    cool, ive started skinning the pylon model but angelus, the bit connecting the two pyramds together is transparent when i compile the model :/ any ideas why?

    Dont know why its doing that....

    The two "pyramids" are actually one cylinder that has 3 segments which i change sized, then welded the top and bottom vertices together to make the point <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo--> i didnt do anything cheep like slap in another shape between em <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    heh apart from that its pretty gd, ive started an animation but ti looks a bit tacky so ill put a few keyframes inbetween to slow it down and make it smoother <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    it should already have an animation on it


    i animated with 100 frames, and the ring rotates around it...

    well when u convert it to ms3d (heheh) you lose all the animations that comes with it i think but ill have a look

    nice job on the pylon skin! it's looking really nice. If you could bring out the sides of the pylon more it would look awesome.

    yea im not quite sure why its dark there :/ i think its the texture i made too dark
    also is it possible to get animated textures or not?
