Ok. So I don't like teenagers, based on posts 5 posts out of 5400, which you are also not going to provide? How do you explain that most of the PT's (all of whom that I consider friends) are teenagers (or 'tweenies'). And how do I manage to put up with 15,000 forum members that are mostly teenagers (or younger!). Or IRC members?
I know I've made a few jokes about SunnyD and the younger generation, but they are just jokes and EXTREMELY tongue in cheek. The same way the community joshes me about being an old man (at 29, no less ). All in good fun. Try not to take me so seriously, or at least try to get to know me before saying that I don't like teenagers. Most of the forum mods that have the keys to the NS castle are teenagers, so if I arbitrarily didn't like them, why would I hire them?
Bleh. I hate being accused of things by strangers...
man they got owned so bad there, im glad i havent seen them and hope they get banned from ns if they are so much of smack tards ::net-tez::
Statistics say bad things about teenagers, and we bring it upon ourselves. Quite frankly, most of us have no idea how to behave, and it shows.
Even just going by average player age, most cheaters will fall within that group. Since most NS players are highschool or college students (we have free time, sweet sweet free time), the same group is going to make up most of the cheaters. Even if every single 25+ player cheated, and only 10% of everyone else cheated (to pull numbers out of my bum in emphesis), there still would be more teenage cheaters than adults.
It's only overgeneralizing that is wrong. Saying that you cheat just because you are a teenager is to use faulty logic, but that most cheaters are teenagers is fairly obvious.
Monse's comment, even if it were serious, would not mean anything anyway. It was on par with calling them teenagers ^^, if a bit below the belt. Quite frankly, hit the cheaters wherever you feel like it; they aren't a welcome part of the community. So even if you are a teenager, don't take offense unless you are a cheater.
The thing is that old people (like me and MonE) have first-hand experience of being teenagers, so we know EXACTLY how annoying you are... while you don't have experience of being old, so you have no idea
Whats best is when you can be really old, like older than dirt old. Older than dirt means when I was a kid and wanted to get dirty I had to make my own dirt by rubbing rocks together. Anyway if you can be that old and still play video games and put up with a bunch of kids, then you really owe it to yourself to make fun of them from time to time.
By the way, pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name
As a teenage i know we can be annoying sometimes, but "rage" clans are just stupid. Awhile ago when i was involved in CS, we had a war against [JAPS] Japanese Assasins Pumped on Speed, and me and a mate told them they were dickless 12year olds and we would beat there arses any day, any game. So, we loaded the latest version of OGC and entered a war with them, and won. They are nothing more than script kiddies, they don't even know how to play the games they cheat at. Pathetic.
That means, one day, about a thousand years from now I'll trace your grave sites down and donce on them all
And I'll also earn the right to call everyone a youngin
Anyway, it isnt right to generalise by age, but the occasional "Bloody Teenagers" comment is perfectly fine in a tolerant well adjusted community provided they are more of an ironic grumbling rather then a flat out insult.
I dont mind being called a "Bloody Teenager" because I've never considered myself as part of the "In" crowd at school or anywhere, so that makes me a double abnormality (A teenager that dosent care about cool! ).
Point being, I prefer to judge people (even though it is not my place to judge people, it is in human nature to make judgements on others) based on the actions they take and the ideals they hold. Erratic behaviour as that shown by the "Net-Tez" bunch can be called Juvenile but it is never a reflection of the entire age group, as the net tez bunch are clearly an idiodic abnormality in their age group and in the gaming community.
No idea where I was headed with this post, but I'll put it up anyhow

[EDIT] And about your crossbow, I dont have one of those, but i do have an 8 foot trebuchet
the crossbow died, it was made from a large piece of timber and an enormous flat metal bar:
___________ |__________|
which bent after about 10 shots. Bolts were made from real archery arrows chopped half way with flights put back on. The tree was NOT going to let me have those back after I fired them into it. Oh how could I forget, it required some beefcake synthetic towing rope to hold the strain from the metal bar (it was iron, hence the stress damage), and took 2 people to wind back. THAT'S frolicking

Yes, damn the topic to hell and lets just talk about frolicking...
Did anyone else ever make dynamite out of smarties tubes and lots of devil bangers when they were young? Would be fun to tie a few of those to one of Roo's crossbow bolts...
awwww yeah made the old classic potassium permanganate/icing sugar in a bog roll tube with a phat strip of magnesium to detonate. Man that one went
Read a really good story on the Darwin Awards website...
You know dry ice bombs? put dry ice in a coke bottle, pour water in, screw the cap on and run, the pressure then blows the bottle to bits...
well, someone thought they could make the bang bigger by putting boiling water in the bottle instead, and the genius held the bottle between his legs while pouring in the boiling water - the bomb went off straight away, and he now has a pair of artificial balls and lots of plastic shards permanently embedded under the skin on his legs....
The moral of the story - frolicking, while fun, can be taken too far. Take care of yourself out there people...
Pun very much intended.
another classic is dry ice in a sink full of warm water with detergent
