1) Funkadelic
The only people other than James Brown who have a realistic claim on "inventing the funk". Waaay ahead of their time, largely unknown outside America. Bizarre. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> Bollocks - everyone I know knows about them. I don't know what sort of people YOU hang around with. Surely not just internet kids???
I'd nominate: Fushitsusha (and Keiji Haino, mainly), Watchmaker and MASONNA.

The mention of Aesma Deva on your list kept harrassing me all the time. "Why is that band so familiar? I haven't bought it, I haven't downloaded it, so why?". After Googling for answers, it became a bit too obvious. Aesma Deva is just the kind of stuff that gets random play on the gothic/industrial clubs in Finland, so I've probably seen it on one dj playlist or other. Now my head doesn't hurt anymore <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
And yes, my diet is partly noise-based, rhythmic or otherwise. Actually, almost any kind of electronic music will do, as long as it's well-crafted.

All these bands have international distribution. If I were a grade A ***hole, I could have listed local bands, but where would the fun be in that?
And concerning offensive material: nothing ever beats Sutcliffe Jügend. Nothing.
