oh ya I didnt think about that be he is absolutely right about that. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
ive been highly aware of that, and ive redrawn a few of the textures myself by hand already. I was considering basically remaking the small set of doom3 textures you see in these pictures which i consider to be the best ones in the pack. Ill post pictures of my versions sooner or later.
And I know I've been hearing a lot of comments about how my stuff looks repetitive, but copy/paste lets me finish faster. And that is a lot more important to me right now than having every wall be entirely unique. I don't think it looks all that bad, and it isn't really <i>too</i> noticable while running around in the level, and would be even less so when trying to avoid getting killed.

Problem is, that Doom3 textures are copyrighted by IdSoftware. I'm for not to release, because map using it can became official and IdSoftware can complain that NS is using Doom3 artwork.

Well thats pretty poor Slicky. I mean ok you redid them after the original texture so its not "the exact texture" but come on! It looks just the same and you cant deny its a copy. You are a great texture artist and I see no reason why should you just copy ID's work? Offcourse it looks sweet for a map but you have to keep a moral standar here.
They are good textures...just remake them, ignore the people complaining about copying <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

they are both doing deliciously. You can expect more stuff from us just not for hl1.
Hehe thats cool. Say congrats to gin! So you arent going to do a ns map? i was kinda hoping for it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Greedo, although the map looks pretty, its really boring. All the rooms are empty and all I say time after time is computers and nice walkways. We need something interesting!

Computers around on the walls etc. Although there isn't really anything in your rooms making them unique or special. It just seems like your rooms have no purpose or sense of being, which would really add depth to the map.
Although thats just my opinion, which never counts for much. If you need anymore elaboration PM me and I will take a day or two to analyse, compare and contrast your screenshots to others on the forums in how there is seemingly no purpose or sense of being.
Ah, yes, well that's a fair bit clearer then. And quite understandable, given that I'm not really designing these rooms for a specific purpose. Ah well.
very bast-esque <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> the ceiling looks terrible though and the lighting needs adjusting quite a lot, is a bit sickly at the moment, otherwise nice

Honestly that shot looks like somebody had explosive diarrhea all over the lightmap. The geometry and texturing look good in general (although that grate . . . ewww) but the lighting effects seem so random that it doesn't look like light.
I'd increase your chop (or do something similar) for starters, cause you've got a lot of odd looking artifacts there, then do something about the seemingly random black spots and white spots. I'm guessing you've got a really high valued texlight behind the grates on the sides? I'd cut that down by a factor of 10. Then see what you get.
Go Belgarion! Shake that funky map one more time! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

By remaking them myself i negate the copyright.

ok.. i think i fixed it up.
also make one (or more) of those yellow lights broken/nonfunctional
what is the source of the white light? try removing it and getting some contrast.
the room definetly is looking good though.
Good stuff, I say!
