It is rather odd... seems almost like he does have to tune his aimbot to either skulks or fades. Yeah I don't think normal HMG's are near accurate enough to take out fades like he was doing at midrange even when fired in bursts. I'd say get spectate him more though. Best sign of an aimbot is their gun trailing off into walls when skulks and such dodge behind them or into vents as 99% of marines usually stop shooting when a skulk is out of sight... I'm a server admin so I've dealt with hackers before and from my experience I'd say he's more than likely using an aimbot. If you know what to look for it is entirely possible to tell apart aimbotters from really good players, mainly because good players actually look at what they shoot, can use jetpacks and manuver well, and don't just stand there when a skulk charges at them because their aimbot will down them in .5 seconds. And one last big thing I've noticed about aimbotters is the fact they never seem to act cautious about their surrounding aka they don't usually check around for sneaky skulks, and somtimes about the only way to kill them is to sneak up on em.....

bah, I looked and looked and looked, came back to read updates, and looked some more. I honestly didn't see anything that couldn't be attributed to a very good aim. I play with clans (STD and OSS) that can shoot like that, and could probably take him to town. From the sound of it, he had level 3 weapons, he did the right thing by rushing the fades instead of shying away from them.... I even saw him spray and pray for those skulks. I think that the heat of the game rubbed off on everyone. The only thing I saw was the flashlight exploit. Yes, it is an exploit, and yes, if you want to get technical it's wrong just for that simple reason, but I don't see the harm in getting ammo faster. it doesn't hurt anyone specifically, except that it gets him to the killing faster. If you notice closely, his comm was keeping him supplied with well-placed health and ammo, and the fades he was killing were only hitting him with splash damage most of the time. Dunno guys, I'd say it's suspicious, but I would cast my vote that he's just good

I believe he was hacking, but not because of his aim.
That late into the game, with a comm that has an idea what he's doing (can be seen by the dropping of medpacks in decent placed positions) would get lv3 weapons. Lv3 weapons + hmg = massacre. Anyone can go out and kill loads.
What I found odd though was when he stopped for absolutely no reasons at all. Why anyone would do this (apart from tuning hacks) is beyond me.
As for that fade incident, he didn't auto lock onto it...he just moved his mouse around a few times trying to see it.
IMO he probably did have an aimbot. At one point he is sitting in Maint (probably typing), a fade comes to the top entrance. His gun snaps to the fade for a sencond then snaps back. When he exits Maint at the top lvl he sees a fade in the keyhole. There was just a general snap to next target instantly.
Also the people playing gave poor reasons to call him a hacker, they probably would call me a hacker. Not wanting the shotty, I'm pretty sure aimbot works just as well with a shotty Killing a fade in 3 seconds, ... Fades aren't invincible, infact HMG kills fades so fast. early in a skulk leaped straight at him and he had an hmg. While anybody that could press fire could have killed him the skulk swore he was a hacker.

i'm not saying that he was or wasnt cheating (if we're still on the boo one), but ppl saying that anyone who is good at shooting can fly with a jp - i'm not claiming to be great at aiming (i havent got the hang of getting the bullets to leave my gun sideways yet) but i really cant jp for toffee.

towards the end it gets really really obvious since he gets some impossible shots while using a jetpack. enjoy.
Yes, I have seen this user before. On ns_hera, he killed FOUR skulks in a row with a pistol. I suspected him of hacking, and plus I heard an admin saying he quit after the admin asked him to use Cheating Death. But I don't know...he might just be really good.
With boo its not how quick he kills fades...its the fact that the only bullets that hit the wall behind the fade are those that are inaccurate due to the gun he is using.
Watch how quick he locks on, follows, and tracks one target. Once its dead he seems to instantly lock onto another target and follow it to its death. A few times, yes, he doesn't lock on. This is because aimbots allow you to have seperate keys so you can use it when you want. For instance when he is shooting the defense chambers later on he ignores the skulks below him.
Also the cheat part isn't the fact that he was staying alive. The Comm WAS giving him ammo and health at times. And the aliens did have somewhat bad aim. But, because boo is using the aimbot he doesn't have to worry about aim, all he has to do is hold 'auto aim/auot fire" down and then worry about bouncing around so he is hard to hit.
Im curious for those who commented...have you ever played with an aimbot? I went and downloaded one a month ago or so just so I could learn how it worked and what it looked like. After getting it, its why I believe boo does indeed use one. Prior to getting it I suspected but had nothing to really look for....afterwards I could identify key points while he was playing that clearly showed it.
As for cheating death, no the server doesn't use it. I can't ever get in touch with the admin but I usually play the server because usually it has alot of skilled players and a good ping. Though do note, when I tested the aimbot about a month ago...cheating death or no cheating death, it worked fine. There have been several updates to cheating death since so im not sure about now.
Oh yeah, one other thing: At the very end of the movie (i think) where boo tries to kill the aliens at south loop he misses alot. At this point he turned off his auto aim. Sadly I didnt' realize it at the time and had turned off the recording because I didnt' want it to be to big (had no idea id' be 9 meg, heh). But from about this point onward his aim sucked. He hit the wall more then aliens, he got few if any kills, and he continued to shoot sometimes even after the aliens had gone behind a wall.
omg. leave this guy alone.. not one thing in that video looked like an aimbot, looked more like aliens who dont know how to hit a marine... and a skilled marine with a hmg owning a pub <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->
I am 95% sure that aimbots remove the cone of fire from the LMG and the HMG. I tried out an aimbot in a lan versus bots and I nailed a skulk all the way from the bunker to alien aproach (map was seige) with 10 LMG bullets.
Not all death (I doubt any). The one I tested merely moved the crosshair. In fact I told it to auto shoot and auto aim then just stood in a corner watching....I downed 3 aliens without touching the mouse.
I could also have set it to burst fire, and several other settings. The same cheat program had hacks for lerks, skulks, and shotguns (so yes there are cheats for shottys...my point in the comment was that boo doesn't use shotty because his program isn't configured for it).
At no time did the cone of fire shrink while using the aimbot I tested. Afterall, cheaters don't want to make it easy. Why would a cheater use something that is visibly obvious like a speed hack?
For the record the progrma had a speed hack to make you shoot faster (though these are easy to spot) and they had a way to reduce the aimbots accuracy.

I've omg band a few people. I always spec a demo and record, then psay and offer them the option to hit up our forums with an appeal. I look for snap-to-target* and flawless tracking at extremely close range. The real gold standard for spotting a hacker is in fact when he gets in a close-range fight with 3 bad skulks. Then you can watch him flawlessly track and kill them, one by one, with no bullets off target unless one of the group walks into the bullet stream.
*This will be easier come 1.1 when we get first-person speccing. For now, I'm mostly reliant upon watching tracking.
Quick question for you folks, though. A few times I've decided someone isn't hacking because he'll stop tracking even if a skulk is in view. The incident I'm thinking of is in vent hive in ns_hera. He was up on the little walkway thingy where the RT is, and a skulk popped out of the cave-looking-thing. He shot at him a bit there, then the skulk got under the grating and popped up around behind him and ate him. I figured this seemed to be a pretty clear indication of non-aimbottedness, but does anyone know if an entity or brush that blocks bullets will also block an aimbot?
(To be fair, the guy really wasn't a hacker, and that wasn't the only non-aimbotter indication. He had good aim in favorable situations, but tactically aware, devious skulks just kicked his ****. I'm just wondering if that instance was a valid conclusive proof that at the very least an aimbot wasn't being used at that second.)
Why take a demo, when you can take a much more authentic screenshot. You could even force their scoreboard to pop up for authentification purposes. With a demo you have to guestimate alot, because many aimbots have a feature to throw around the aim a bit to make it look legit.
True but Boo doesn't use that feature often if at all. The last time I tried to spec record him he turned off his hacks and I watched him miss after miss after miss while shooting.
This time I didn't say anything so I dont' think he knew I was there until it was to late.
Ether way...if an aimbot user throws off their aim I dont' care as much because if they look like a really good player then you could easily put a good player in their spot and still have the same effect. Hard to explain but basicly its good practice when going against them (if they have reduced accuracy)

If not, why not.
If not, play somewhere else that is. Simple.
