Anyway, i have the most powerful CRT monitor on the planet, and i normally run my desktop resolution in 2046x1536, and could do the same in Halflife, i think. Anyway, if anything in HL goes any higher than 1024x768 for me, it gets a bit difficult to see.
i thought we got over that debaucle a long time ago. We concluded that the muzzleflare stays the SAME, no matter the resolution. Search around, im sure its there, screenshots and all...
I play in 1024x768 because its better than 800x600, it has personal value to me, and my framerate goes through the roof.
1024x768x32 OpenGl Would run in D3D, but it seems to want to tear my frames a lot. Oh well :E I get (theoretically) 100fps constantly, but that is locked down to 75fps constant because I have a LCD monitor. I don't really care as Unless there are several acres of turret farms my FPS is not going to change. I also haven't done any tweaking, yet.
