This is correct, I plan to do some more layery thingies with it later. For the moment I am working on doing one thing; The base fur. There's not enough variation on the shade of the fur any more, take a look at your old 'sample', you'll see some strands are much darker, while others are light, the variation in shading is what gives it the fur-like look. At the moment it looks one-tone, all mrging together into scribbles.

I've actually nearly finished the base fur level - I will be finishing and making a few tweaks then I will upload it in my next post. Should look good. Also the "looks too neat" problem is nothing to do with how i drew the fur, but the fact it is at 60% opacity - I can fix this easily and show you what it really looks like.

I think I solved the odd problem, which should make it look a bit better. The actual picture is nearly 2000x1500 pixels big :o

OK I've got good and bad news.
The bad news is I was unable to do the shading myself, do to my sheer lack of experience with photoshop as of yet. Next pic I do will be done by me I hope :o
The good news is.. Well... I managed to get a friend of mine called "Deadguy" To
help me. He did the shading for me...and...um...You should see this for yourself.
(nb the claws are not finished, Same with the "skin" around the claws. Will be next. There is also a need for a suitible background.... FYI: I plan to release the full sized version on completion. It's about 260KB big...and as for size of picture...It's 2100x1600 pixels big. I think you can see too much of the iris... You can actually see it all and it looks like it's staring which creeps you out. If you cover the bottom and top half a little, I think it will look much better. Look in the mirror at your own eye, you can't see a full iris, unless you pull a shocked expression:)

With regards to the leathering of the skin (you know what i'm talking about, beast), do an image google search for "leather" or "skin" and so on. In the end you'll find a good image which shows the wrinkles and textures of skin or leather pretty well. That's the hard part really, but search, there are some good images out there.

When you have that it just comes down to tinkering. I can't remmeber the technique offhand right now (it's 2am) but it's not that difficult to overlay it properly so you have your existing colours and lines but overlayed with the leather texture. A little touching up after that and it's done. Nice and simple. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
