My New Pet
<div class="IPBDescription">i have to post this</div> I love my new pet.
She is a 6 month old African Rock Python named Fade
They can grow extremely fast depending on how much you feed them.
She is a bit over 4 ft now. compared to the 23-29 ft female Rocks get.
Im expecting her to be about 10 ft or so in a year or so.
She is extremely friendly, and loves to be on people. even strangers. which is a strange temperment for Rocks. They are known to not be very friendly. or more so hard to train to be friendly. once they are though, they are extremely friendly. She likes to sit ontop your head, and watch everything. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

I'm still stuck with a cat and a dog, but I'd like to get something more unusual eventually.
The icing on the cake is the fact that you named it <i>'Fade</i>'
Just plain awesome <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
I need a real pet <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
Well the turtle is still ours, but my uncle is turtle sitting her for awhile <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
i have 2 dogs though.
my birds both died last year along with my other dog. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
i would like another snake though...they are sooo much you can do with them, i take her with me places, on walks, she loves to crawl all over you. and snakes actually are affectionate. Most people think snakes are boring, but actually not. i thought so to. but in Fades case. my thoughts were completely changed. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> and you like the name? i thought Fade was awesome. just seems to fit <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Plus since she was getting older. the pet store wanted to get rid of her before she got to use to it there, they can have a hard time adapting, they knocked the 139$ down to 50$ and we got a deal. since rock pythons are a bit rare to find as a pet, you can find them, its just not so common.
Please explain to me how that works.
Whoa, its supposed to be a pet, not a bleetin' monster! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Still, looks like an interesting .... pet, and its character sounds rather good aswell <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Where are you going to keep it when it hits the 10feet mark? From my limited knowledge snakes hang out in modified fish tanks, or somesuch... Gonna have to be a big fishtank for a 10' long snake <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
oh, ps, could'na picked a better name <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
- you make places for it to stay. it doesnt require much. you can also buy huge netted areas. we have on now. that are meant for snakes. the requirement is it has to be half the size as the snake. thats comfortable for them. and they actually can be trained. rocks are the smartest of their kind. i was wondering how you get them in their cage when they get that big <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
but i guess ill find out.
the wall to the right im assuming is her cage. since males are a great deal smaller. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Uh.. don't people keep snakes in cadges?
I'm sure it's just fine, but just keep on your toes... people that have snakes for years have had them suddenly bite them outta nowhere.

there is a mental thing burmese can get, that will make them do that. and considering most people own burmese, thats what happens. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
There are types of pythons, some are not very good some are, rocks if trained, can be the nicest. there is under a 1% chance that a snake would kill its master, a 6% chance that it could hurt you.
Rocks give you a number of warning signs, before they would ever strike. they will hiss at you. and evidentally their hiss is so load and frightening it has made people in Zoo's actually pass out. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> and if you still dont listen if they are bigger, they will bump you away, and if your dumb enough not to listen to that and you do get bitten, you dont deserve to have a snake.
Although Rock Pythons teeth are huge...and they have lots of them. at least a couple inches. and the teeth i seen where on a 12ft one. i dont even want to think of how big the teeth get at 25ft ...
Although my pets are rather boring, just a cat and a dog, and I'm not much of a dog person.
I'd actually like to get a scorpian, and I've got the perfect climate for them down here in sunny San Diego.
Edit: Just realized something, need to make a warning :
NO "HOVARS WITHOUT FLAPPING" COMMENTS PLEASE!!! THERE IS NO NEED TO BEAT THE DEAD HORSE ANY LONGER!!! <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo--> THANK YOU!!!
I seriously do want to get a scorpian, very curious little critters.
<i>Hey cool! There's a rabbit in here!</i>
F**k those are some really big mother f$%^&*'in teeth!!! <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->
meh me, I like to pet and play with OTHER people's pets, then I don't have to worry about the responsibility hehe. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
But I have a question thats been itching me, how in the world you going to take care of the snake when it gets that big?<!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->??
Dogs and cats are more likely to bite you than a snake. Also, they're much more dangerous than non-venomous snakes.
BOO, that's an AWESOME snake. I want a snake, but I don't think my cats would get along well with it, and my mom would kick me out of the house if I had one. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Where do you keep your snake ? Plus how do you train it to be friendly ?
Run and don't look back. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
<span style='font-size:21pt;line-height:100%'>AND J-LO KNOWS WHATS RIGHT DAD GUMMIT!!</span>
I am so going to see that film now......
You hardly ever hear of one ever attacking anyone.
the ones that do, are not trained well. or a kind that when they get that big should not be taken out of the cage,
You hear about dogs all the time. Mauling and killing people.
Yet people seem to think snakes to be some sort of mean creature.
When in fact there is less than a 1% chance that they would ever kill there master.
Snakes are not mean. Fade i trust enough to put around my neck. Cause i know she feels safe on me not insecure. When an animal trusts you enough to handle her, all the time and even pull off things she shouldnt be on, and doesnt offer any form of dislike to that. im more worried about dogs. ive been attacked by an Akita over 200LBs. lucky i jumped in the car <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Snakes are not evil, they are not out to hurt anyone. if they do somehow, its because that person didnt show any respect to the snakes want of being left alone. or whatever. or its a burmese and it gets that mental desease.
Snakes wont just wrap you up. they will hiss bump or in few cases bite you.
the snake anchors around my neck so it can stretch its head out to see other people and things.

damn and i thought i was bad showering only every 3 days.
I have a parrot (half moon conure) named Caesar that is mine, and I have adopted my girlfriends dog (maltese/terrior mix) named Sanders.
if you get a snake, make sure it was hand tamed.
Plus handling it alot and teaches it what it should and shouldnt do.
Like evetually it will learn that if im not there or someone isnt there. it cant leave its cage unless into someones hands. course it couldnt do that anyway.
By handleing it, it learns to trust you, and more importantly you learn to trust it. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
i had a pure bred maltese once. ill never get another tiny dog after that, <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> to fragile. she didnt realize that though. and over the course of her short 6yr life she took one to many falls. of her own doing...and developed a brain tumor <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
I have a beagle bichon now. and i love him to death. cept i have to be sure to keep him away from the snake. cause his hunting instincts. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> plus he would be the one to die not the snake The snake woul dnever attack the dog, unless attacked 1st. Its uninterested, and only eats what is given to it in its feeding area. anything else outside that area, it generally wont try to eat. course i never tested this, but thats what they say. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
