well anyways, is that blue circle on blinky some sort of 'lock on aim' while the big circle is where your bullets will go and the small x-ahir the center of your screen>?
or how does that all work, or is it jsut for looks (looks awsome)

Is the marine suffocating in that pic? (The O2 indicator at the bottom left)
And does that marine have weapons upgraded twice, and armor upgraded twice? (4 indicators on the right)
What do weapon upgrades do? Rate of fire? Accuracy? Damage? Pretty colors?
EDIT: speeling mistook
Are you allowed to tell us what the upgrades do?
I don't wanna get you in trouble with your NDA though. Hopefully Flayra will check out this thread soon...

Kind of. Parasite tracks any infected marine, all of the time. Motion tracking tracks all aliens, but only when they're moving. They both show up on screen in the same manner, but with different indicator sprites.
pfft, silly me got my big cicles mixed up
And besides, I thought coil was referring to overwatch mode, since isn't that what overwatch mode does? Track motion and shoot at it. What is the motion tracker then? I haven't even heard of it till now. Or is coil referring to a commander order...or something?
edit: anyways, why does anyone really CARE about misconceptions of little features like this of a game that's about to be released. I mean, will someone read my dangerous misinformation, confuse overwatch mode with the motion tracker, and then say: "Well that DOES it, this mod suxxors, I'm going to go spam the boards with goatse pictures."
Besides, I really don't think that misinformation at this point will have any effect, unless that is, you're shooting for an easter release. Anyone that visits these boards before the game is released already has plenty of info laid out for them. A little bit of stupidity on the boards before release isn't going to bolster the mongol hordes of newbies asking: "wtf is a rp?"
(this is just what i'e heard i can't confirm anything)
Greedo, 3 posts earlier:

I hope there is some RANGE to this... otherwise the marines essentially can track moving aliens and spot where they are congregating from all the way across the level.
I mean, at least the aliens have to have a partner to view or parasite a marine for it to be visible on hivemind. But the marnies get to spot ALL moving aliens in the entire map?
Ofcourse, this is only if the motion tracking has no radius.
Relax, only the arrogant people who like to exhibit their imagined superiority get flammatory about a little misconception. The rest of us is cool about it and doesn't mind clearing it up.
1) The circle in the picture is *not* overwatch. It is the sprite for motion tracking. Motion tracking tracks all *moving* aliens on the level; an unmoving alien will not show up, but will show up once it starts moving again. Yes, it's very helpful for marines; this is offset by a high RP-cost to research.
2) Overwatch is currently out. This is because, as DrunkenBozo said, its aim was *too* good. It may or may come back if Flayra can dumb down the code a little.

And the new shot would look fairly similar to someone who just remembers the overwatch mode as a big blue circle thing:
