HOW TO RUIN A GAME
1). As soon as the game starts, jump into the commander's chair and build as many comm chairs as team resources allow.
2). As an alien, find whatever mission-critical vent or thoroughfare you can, immediately gorge and build OCs inside or in front of it. Without a movement advantage, those 'rines will be blowing down your hive in no time.
3). Repeatedly move in front of enemies at walking pace, throw down your guns, and get eaten. The Onos will be hatching shortly thereafter.
4). Use non-teamtalk to discuss your team's current strategy. The other team will be grateful for the intelligence.
5). As soon as the 2nd hive is up, plop down 3 sensory chambers. Everyone will love you.
6). Type over the publich channel "THERE'S AN ONOS GESTATING OUTSIDE YOUR BASE, COME PWN HIM!"
Granted, some of these aren't complete game-cripplers, but I'll be a monkey's uncle if they don't make the game less fun for me.
Even worse, block the vent with sensories
lol one funny thing I did... an onos came to kill us and we chased it off. We thought he was the only onos. I said 'Come back and fight like a man, onos'. Immediately 3 people say 'No'. Then they go 'Oh... my.. god... that was the most brilliant way to find out how many onos are on the other team '

On tanith one time, 4 of us went Onos at the endgame portion where the Marines are spamming grenades from their spawn area. We got some fades to take out their observatory with acid rockets so we could cloak freely, and since all the Marines were standing up on the dais so they wouldn't get trampled so easily, all four of us Onos cloaked and walked into the room, and stood there. All on the count of 3, we said "BOO!" over the public chat channel and proceeded to start goring marines it was the best... Nobody even had time to type responses like OMGZ NOOOOO before the game was over.
Not a bad idea, I'd say. I mean, the aliens lose the upgrade levels from lost chambers, right?
We had this horrible game where some n00b gorge build defensive chambers in Eclipse Command before the hive was up. Thing is, he put 2 of them right... under... the hive... We could not build it. It said it was blocked. And we cried.
When we ran out of steam on 2 hives, we actually had to let them come in and take EC from us, kill the DC's, and then storm back in before they got too well situated. In a sporatic burst of pub server teamwork, it went perfectly.
And how many times has a n00b or even you accidently blocked an RT with a preemptive chamber? Of course, most of us cap it first, but when it happens, it's a ****.
Or is recycling just one of those 'racial identity' things we're not allowed to touch?
Back in the early days I accidentally built an offence chamber on a res node instead of res chamber. I had to wait for a marine to destroy it.

A team filled with llamas can ruin the game in so many other ways, like charging into marine base over and over to give them rfk. Anyway, are people like this really a big problem? I consider the ability to recycle structures a part of the Aliens's racial identity. In a society wherein efficiency and perfection are constantly strived for via evolution and physical change, an unsuccessful or useless bioform (say...a misplaced OC) would never be tolerated. It'd be a cancer on a society with no room for error, and it would be immediately excised. Just like how the runt skulk is food for the healthy skulks
I'd like to hear from the playtesters or developers on this issue--has it ever been seriously discussed among the elite of the NS community? What decision was reached, and has anyone thought of a decent solution? I've heard some great ideas suggested in this thread. Take a look, gentlemen...
