Hi everyone! Wow, I would never have thought that I would have so many replies in such a short amount of time!!
Thank you very much!!
About the poy count, I've followed what you said and lowered it to something like 1770 without any kind of major visual changes. That wasn't too hard, it was just looking carefully to where having a lot of poly wasn't necessary.
Now, to lower the poly count to around 1500 polys, Coil, it may be <b>*really*</b> hard in my opinion <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

-Azrael2709: "Mmmmmmm... legs..." Err... I'm not sure I understand your point here....
-ParisofTroy: "proportions don't like right, the waist and butt look weird " How do you think I should change it then?
-CrouchingHamster,HiddenElvis and other people:
Yes, it trully is my first model. I'm now thinking about modeling the creature I've created (you can look for it in the artwork forum: <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=7&t=47423&st=0' target='_blank'>Alien Concept Art</a>).
The thing is, I think that if you got a good 2D drawing basis, this may be really helpful for you to then do a 3D model.
Plus, I used pics of this character as background pictures in the front and left viewport, so this may explain things too.
The really hard part was to try to keep the number of polys low. I know that having high-poly count models shouldnt be really hard, so the difficult part lays in low-poly models in my opinion. But I have alot of things to learn, like skinning, UvWwrapping, animation and such.
The fact is, I would really love to become a pro artist too, but since I don't have the money to go in an artschool (because these are really really expensive here in the country where I live) all I can do is try to improve all by myself.
But that's right to me, as I do love challenges: it motivates me! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> The fact is, I'm awfully motivated in learning 3D modeling, and this may be an explanation for the good quality of this model. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
- Quaunaut: "I bet he's even going to write the fanfiction and use sound forge on (hopefully)Jane's voice(not saying Jane needs soundforging, saying she should be the voice. Janes voice=teh sexeh). "
Well, you are right about the fan-fic thing Quaunaut <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> But still, as I don't know who is Jane, I'm not going to do anything with/to her voice...
Well, truth is, I didn't thought about the voice issue... Hell I even not seriously thought about having this model integrated to the game at the beginning; at the beginning I just modeled it because I wanted to learn about 3D modeling and because someone talked about it in the original artwork thread....
But now I'm glad I did it, it was very interesting and i'm grateful to whole of you who posted your thoughts here <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

As coil and I said earlier, her head should be a bit smaller, and the rest of her body needs beefing up a bit. It doesn't look like she's wearing armor. Also, it doesn't have to be identical to a male marine's armor. As I recall, in 2000 AD, female Judges (2000 AD is where Judge Dredd is) under 5'10" are required to wear high-heel and high-top boots to show authority and power. Yes, this isn't 2000 AD, but I'd like to have something to show that they are different than a male marine in things besides size.
LoL <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Planetkiller, you already have me in the "team" as character designer, thanks to Cristyn <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
She gave me some directions so that I can post my works in the good part of your forum (she sent me a PM before leaving to where you must know I think).
Surge, Coil, I've taken in account your advice: here are some pics of the slightly modified model. I've forgotten to mention that I also changed a bit the armor pads of her legs the last time I posted. And I've smoothed the model, as people have requested <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Also, as you said her head was really too big <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Now that I've reduced it, I can notice it too <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
I've made some modifications on the upper part of her armor and torso, made the arms slightly stronger (don't know if the difference is noticeable though?)
Still I'm wondering if I may not give her a modeled belt, as I thought in the beginning that with a good skin, I wouldn't have to "spend" more polys on it (and thus keeping the poly count as low as possible)... What do you people think?
Taken in account your advice on making the female marine model slightly different from the male one... May rework things a bit, thanks for giving me more work lol <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Edit: lol, just changed a stupid thing I've said <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Wow, even better. I thought it rocked before, but now its just getting good.
Also, if I remember right, this will (still) be one of the first player models on these forums. Not many have been made, other than some new skins and the SC ones. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
JeeR... can you use "model" transparancy on the "eye windows" of her
for see her eyes his eyes is unvisible => <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo-->
Wow... I thought it looked awesome before... That's a massive improvement dude. I have to commend you on your intuitive knowledge of the human body... The way the back naturally curves, the shape of her leg muscles.... It's all there, and I'm very impressed.
And while what you have is definately an excellent generic female model (female marines and/or athletes in real life often have similar bodies, without the really long legs ofcourse), however I'm not so sure the model you have created is actually Natalja herself... She seemed far more... Feminine...
Might I suggest a possible widening of the hips, and lowering of the shoulders? Her shoulder line (front view) in the before pic appealed to me more than in the after shot. As for the lower portion of her body, I'd definately suggest widing the hips and possibly her thighs (be careful to overdo the thighs though, they need to remain proportionate to the hips) while keeping the waist as it is now.
Remember that a female's body is designed to give birth, and to the end, it's hip structure is built very differently from a male's (scientists use the hip bone to identify which sex a skeleton was). The most noticable signs of "normal" hip structure on a female is a wider "**** gap" (yes that is the scientific term) inbetween her legs compared that of a male, and you will notice that a female standing her hands by her sides probably wont be able to make her hands hang perfectly vertical (unlike males). This is because the hip bone is usually wider than the shoulders, and the narrowest hips on a female are still normally wider than her upper torso, and at the very least stick out by atleast half an arm's width on each side (so you still see these women unable to hold both their arms at their sides perfectly vertical).
On your model, disregarding armour, it seems that her hips are almost exactly as wide as her upper torso (which is a distinctly masculine trait), and so if it wasn't for the thickness of her thighs and fore-arms she WOULD be able to hang her arms down vertically....
I hope I got the right message across as I'm not doing a very good job of explaining what I mean... I'd suggest searching on google for comparisons the male and female bone structure to get a better idea of what I mean.
Err.... Stupid swear world filter picking out words that aren't swear words...
Ok seeing as we aren't allowed to use the scientifc term for **** gap, I'll have to go for far more crude and vulgar descriptions inbetween. What I mean by **** gap is the amount of space inbetween your legs. It's easy not to notice since we naturally assume that the male organ either requires a fair bit of room or that the only reason that it seems that way on a female is simply because the <b>don't</b> have this same organ hanging down and obscuring one's "inbetween the leg area".
However looking at skeletons and at live models etc etc (I learnt this in my second to last year of high school btw) researchers did indeed confirm that this is true.
Once again I point you in the direction of google for more, uncensored and more accurate, information.

The legs and arms do seem a bit too long for the torso. And, as revenge said, the hips are a too tight. Getting the anatomy just right will make this model that much better for <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->.

<!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
The fact is, I'm awfully motivated in learning 3D modeling, and this may be an explanation for the good quality of this model. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
- Quaunaut: "I bet he's even going to write the fanfiction and use sound forge on (hopefully)Jane's voice(not saying Jane needs soundforging, saying she should be the voice. Janes voice=teh sexeh). "
Well, you are right about the fan-fic thing Quaunaut <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
But still, as I don't know who is Jane, I'm not going to do anything with/to her voice...
I'll make the head smaller and rework the torso a bit then <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Thanks again everyone <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

and hopes for gaining the use of his excellent talents (possibley even this model?)*

She gave me some directions so that I can post my works in the good part of your forum (she sent me a PM before leaving to where you must know I think).
<!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Also, as you said her head was really too big <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Now that I've reduced it, I can notice it too <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Anyway here are the pics:

Taken in account your advice on making the female marine model slightly different from the male one... May rework things a bit, thanks for giving me more work lol <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Edit: lol, just changed a stupid thing I've said <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
You have proper team access now, so you can upload work easily.
Did Crys set you anything specific to do?
I read the earlier comment about heels, but if the polycount is an issue then I don't think the model can really afford them...
Also, if I remember right, this will (still) be one of the first player models on these forums. Not many have been made, other than some new skins and the SC ones. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
