Although I probably won't buy it anyway, I'm flat broke after buying Halo for my PC. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Np, btw a bit of a tip, use incenerator on the Legionair if you're a nomad. It works pretty good if you can keep out of range of that huge axe.
I literally ran into their base from 1 direction while the rest of my team came from the other and I wiped out everything in my path which is kinda funny considering it meant they ignored the huge assault trundling in from the other side and some of the things in my way were actually buildings.
The worst part is they didn't even kill me <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

That's what I do, I save 1 or 2 medpacks for a quick retreat when I run low on health. Legionannares are the onos of this game for the human side. It's just so fun smashing your axe agianst the enemy. :]
Thats why savages kick butt. They are faster and still do quite a bit of damage.
Of course, being an NS player I usually stay back and help build/mine/seach out mines during the early parts of the game, so I don't often have enough money to go legionannare as soon as everyone else does. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Lotta enemies heavily guard one side of their base with loads of towers, while leaving the other completely undefended. I ran by one of their assaults on a fortified area we controlled, went the opposite path that they were coming from, and waltzed right into their base. I was only a nomad though, so I got out of visible range of their base and told the commander to start setting up an assault area for us all to spawn from and mutilate them. But we were being attacked and he was busy, and I noticed that it was time that I should probably go to bed. Instead though, I'm posting here...
Basically all you do as comm is climb the tech tree and build garrisons/towers when your team advances far enough(advancing = being able to kill, respawn, repeat better than the enemy), didn't see any real tactics but didn't expect any either since everyone is nub. Of course theres that frustration when half your team sits around the base creeping while you lose the garrison in the middle, similar to how you would get frustrated at people humping armory when you're losing phase gate to a hive.
Though if you're the kind of person who thinks a pump-shotgun is out of place in a futuristic game like NS, then you're in for a shock when two catapults advance, guarded by a group of huge brutish looking warriors, with crude armor and giant axes...then one of the guys pulls out a laser gun and another blasts you with a rocket launcher <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
It's a decent game but I don't think I'll be buying it.
The minute comm puts down a building go whack hell out of it with your weapon and your experience will skyrocket.
As for nomads with flamethrowers they're good when the legionarre doesn't know what 'sprint' is and doesn't make any effort to dodge, I took down 2 as a flamethrower nomad myself but took out 3 flamethrower people when I stormed into their base. Just make sure you use jump and strafe at the right times and they'll barely hit you; though I'm really convinced the reason I did so well was because I was so high level and they were only low levels and most of them couldn't aim very well so I think they were new gamers =/
Still, it was one heck of an ego boost <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

And after there aren't many buildings to build (or any time, really), you can go off and hunt for those monkey creatures, they usually stay in groups and respawn quickly, so you sit there and hack 'em down until you're at a suitable level. (I got from level 2 to 11 doing this, there wasn't much else to do that game).
The game looks decent enough, but I bet it will be better when the Beasts arrive. <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo-->
I definitely find the quickest way is helping to build stuff but grimm's 'kill the monsters' thingy works too if your comm isn't a construction fiend ^^
mining will also help you gain xp but it tend to be pretty slow going (you only get a bit of it when you take the resources to the nearest stronghold/whatever so if it's not right next to it it'll take a while <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> )

It'll give you a waypoint to the nearest Stronghold/Garrison.
I usually end up killing creatures cause most commanders are like "You fight, I'll build, it's useless having fighters do the work when I can just use my workers"
Shame repairing stuff doesn't have the same benefits... infact I'm not even sure you get any experience for doing repairs at all =/
But nevertheless it did seem like fun and i'm considering buying it when / if it gets released in the UK.
Ya someone I know got the retail today and said the beasts are great.
Something I find quite annoying is everyone throwing themselves on the Monkits to get easy exp even if they have 500+ XP and are legionnaires, instead of leaving them to the lower levels and protecting the front.
It's more combat intensive than NS, but I still prefer NS. This is more.. barbaric, for lack of a better term.
Also, I find it quite buggy, but that's maybe just me (I spawned a couple of times invisible, a couple of crashes etc...)
