Jedi Knight does the same for sabre duels. It's really the best way to go for melee combat.
It was fun for two rounds, but then I realized I had been whacking away at monkeys for 40 minutes. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

Well, actually i dont really like it. I have to admit that it looks nice, but there isnt much athmosphere in there. You begin, gather some ore for your team, that gets boring, you run around the map, meet some enemys kill them. Ranged weapons Sux0r exept for the marksmanbow and the best electro weapon wich a lttle neat. The weapon effects are not to nice either. melee is almost everytime superior to ranged weapons, since you can kill the enemy in one attack and he often dont see you when hes in fps mode because of using his rifle thingy. You melle Weapons get upgraded by themselves, so they are pretty neat.
The game is unorganized, not only teamplay wise, but tech tree wise, too. I haven´t played comm myself, since complete morons were always jumpoig in the chair <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> and noone cares and helps me voting them out <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
but it seems ach tech is accessible from the beginning. you just build garrison, this armory thingy then research lab, then you can build ALL the tech buildings researching all the 3 tech types if you like.
So overall im not som pleased with it. I don´t want to mention the occuring bugs, but gameplay wise its ages behind NS.
I like the feel of anxiously waiting to spawn in at your garrison near the enemy base, and all spawning in and seeing a horde of men sprinting in together. Legionares swinging their huge axes, Savages just rampaging and a group of nomads with marksmans bows picking off enemy workers as they struggle to put up a mortar tower.
You really just get that epic feel, and the music changing with the game is really great too.
Sure, it isn't an AMAZING game, but it's a fresh change. Notice the flamethrower? (incinerator) Look at the flame.. That sure looks unfinished.
The game IS called Savage, which surprisingly sounds melee-ish... Though I haven't played Beasts. Might buy it if I have money to spare, but it's not my priority.
