The movie is very well shot, with absolutely no CGI, even during fight scenes.
I've practiced with a boken (Katana) and from what I saw in the movie...Yuen Wo-Ping (the Matrix kung-fu trainer) trained them very well.
My review: A little excessive with the blood, very cool with the switches, very good story explanation. 8.75/10

you know how he is with music, if you know his movies. EVERY song, just <i>SPOT</i> on in this movie.
choreography: amazing.
the technique: amazing.
the drama: amazing.
the afterglow: amazing.
in a few days or something i'll probably come up with words to describe it... but for now, i'm just savoring.
I suggest changing any plans you had tomorrow (or tonight) to go see it, I went in with high expetations and they were more than satisfied.
The things that went on in this movie defy explaination. And to whoever thought Uma couldn't use a sword you've got another thing comming.

I cant possibly do justice to the movie by saying how great it was. Drop what you're doing and go, take all your friends and enemies. Take your pets..... take anything with eyes, this movie is well worth it.
However, one should note that 200 gallons of fake blood were used in the filming of this.
and you should see it just for the last swordfight.

I disagree I think he actually took a step back from a lot of his humor and made a more geniuily deep movie, either way it is really good and well worth going to see at making up you <i>own </i>mind dontcha think?
It's not so much of a parody as an acknowledgement, I think a few people kept laughing when there wasn't a joke, but either way it's an aweseome flick.
The movie struck me as a sort of live-action parody of Ninja Scroll and other anime films. It's got great action, and a few laughs if you understand the parody (if you don't, you'll probably be puking, not laughing).

but yeah, i acknowledge that it is a pretty serious movie on the inside. you have to think past the hyperawesome aspects to the subtleties.
by QUIRK i meant the tarantino charm, the style, the techniques... and also his personal tastes. c'mon.. SONNY CHIBA? in QUENTIN TARANTINO'S "cool" film? you saw em, D.
