Medspam will rule all
O Brought cost of health packs and ammo down to 1.
Read the 2.xx changelog in the stickied topics on this general forum.
I'm sorry Devs, but this is excessive. Now I realize that the marine team needed some boosts to keep up with the aliens, but 1 for a medpack is... well... EXTREAME!
We are talking nearly invincible marines at little to no cost... You can easily give every marine on your team 2-3 extra hits and expect res for kills to pay back for medspam.
It costs 15 res for Heavy Armor which gives roughly 10 additional hits from skulks... Now for 15 res you can give your vinalla marines 15 addition hits (providing they have enough armor, of course).
If marines need a boost, then make ammo packs cost 1, as ammo is really expensive, but not med packs. Efficient medspam should be a skill, but at 1 for a medpack will force aliens to have to gang up on a marine to kill him, otherwise medspam will keep him alive...
If you make this change, I would expect marines to own clan games as well as pub games to a lesser extent. I know for a fact that playing as an alien would become very... unfun. Not being able to kill my prey was before, not a bad thing, when that person took up 5 medpacks to stay alive (which is 10 res, a shotgun...!), but now for 5 res that person will own me, and have a chance to get 3 of that res back with res for kills... I'm sorry, but this sounds terrible.
Please, someone tell me this change is only being tested and soon removed or limited to ammo packs?

Well i am not one to start complaining before the actual version comes out. Maybe aliens got a boost that you didnt see?
wait till it's out, THEN start whining (yea even if it is good)
Will it make up for half-price medspam though? =/
It's called playtesting, aka beta testing, to test stuff.
Now, everytime Flayra's going to experiment with something, people are going to scream
"OMG UNBALANNNNNNNNCEEEE I SHALL NEVER PLAY NS AGAIN!11ONEONEELEVENTWENTYFOUR!11"
Sit it out, we'll see the result, if it's that horrible, I doubt Flayra would release it, no?
Anyway, I think it's fine, medspam is not that bad.
- "HAHA funniest NS game ever!
- "post your funniest ns pictures ever"
- "whats the best server ever?"
- "who is the best ns clan ever?"
- "how to celergy?"
Sorry I just like discussing topics on a forum with fellow ns players like forlorn who i met at a lan and i was like omg you play ns and he was like ya and this other guy they call future was there and hes in some clan and then later that week i found out that forlorn joined that future clan and it was like wow small world then i played ns and had fun
BTW... flay keep up the good work, dispite how much we "whine" about balance, we are simply discussing how the new changes will affect gameplay, not bitching about you doing a poor job... this mod is awsomeness to the Ackxors power.
Darnit, there's a growing amount of new posts about 2.1 and this is only an experimental changelog?

Jeez, well, at least my concerns are put to rest.

Hahahahahaha
Lets not argue about balance for a game we havn't played.
true dat.
ever tried sporing med spammed marines, amazing how fast it eats them up
Unless it says 'final changelog', assume that everything in the changelog is experimental and can be pulled at any time before the release. It doesn't need stating.. it's fully implied that a beta changelog is NOT the final, and that it's all under severe testing. That's... kinda what Beta means.

It's fully implied in the... wha?
Beta changelog? Where did beta come from?
Again, there's nothing to indicate that everything in there is 100% subject to change.

Says it all really, doesn't it? If it works, it stays. If it doesn't, it dies. There's no real need to discuss it. Testing > discussing in such cases. If it goes into the final version and you still see problems with it after playing for a few weeks, then you can start bickering about it. There's just no reason for anyone but testers to discuss this now, since it's completely out of our hands anyway. I'm sure there are medspammers among the testers too, so if medspam becomes godlike, it'll be spotted long before 2.1 is released.
not to offend anyone, but at Flayra's comment..
and the fact the masses haven't played this beta form yet..
