My feelings, if healspray costs 0 res, medpacks should not be so expensive. However, due to spamage, it needs to stay at 2 to at least dent the marine economy a little bit if they want to spam. Ammo however, should probably drop down to 1 res because not many people spam that, and completely change the tide of the game. (During a firefight at least.) Mainly because you still have to take time to reload whatever weapon it is you're using, then shoot off the enitre clip, reload...

I'm sorry Devs, but this is excessive. Now I realize that the marine team needed some boosts to keep up with the aliens, but 1 for a medpack is... well... EXTREAME!
We are talking nearly invincible marines at little to no cost... You can easily give every marine on your team 2-3 extra hits and expect res for kills to pay back for medspam.
It costs 15 res for Heavy Armor which gives roughly 10 additional hits from skulks... Now for 15 res you can give your vinalla marines 15 addition hits (providing they have enough armor, of course).
If marines need a boost, then make ammo packs cost 1, as ammo is really expensive, but not med packs. Efficient medspam should be a skill, but at 1 for a medpack will force aliens to have to gang up on a marine to kill him, otherwise medspam will keep him alive...
If you make this change, I would expect marines to own clan games as well as pub games to a lesser extent. I know for a fact that playing as an alien would become very... unfun. Not being able to kill my prey was before, not a bad thing, when that person took up 5 medpacks to stay alive (which is 10 res, a shotgun...!), but now for 5 res that person will own me, and have a chance to get 3 of that res back with res for kills... I'm sorry, but this sounds terrible.

Still, Flayra pointed out on page 1 that this change is highly expiremental and will likely be reverted. So, while I don't try to cut anybodys right to discuss aspects of 2.1, I fail to recognize the value of a discussion about this one.
Hmm. I'd actually like to see the cost for ammo dropped. Ammospam won't get the marines out of a pinch in the same way that medpacks do, but I frequently find myself out of ammo in the field (and if I "ammo up" I get accused of humping, wiseguys). The HMG doesn't carry much ammo, but it doesn't carry a lot of mags either, so it's easy and cheap to "ammo up" a depleted HMG. GLs on the other hand suck up ammo like there's no tomorrow. With a clip of only four shots, it carries 30 shots in reserve. That means EIGHT packs of ammo to fill up the reserves (<b>sixteen res</b>), as opposed to two for the hmg, three for the pistol and five for the LMG and shotgun. And the GL needs to be applied liberally if you're using it as a defense (for example spamming the hallway ahead of a couple of HMG-ers while they reload), so ammo conservation is not always an option. A comm will usually only drop five or six packs of ammo at most upon request, and those can easily be guzzled up by a hungry GLer alone. I wouldn't mind seeing ammo packs reduced in cost. Wonder what the testing is showing.
I am glad to see that Med costing 1 res isn't going to stay in. Nothing is worse than being owned by a single marine. When you know that you can kill him when he needs to reload but the sky lights up and hes given life till you are dead.

Map was Eclipse, I was a gorge in Triad and I set up 2 OCs around the fresh RT that another gorge had placed. as I finished building the 2nd OC, a marine jumped down from the uper level, shot at me, and pulled his knife and started to knife my OCs and Me. The comm flooded him with Meds and he was able to kill me as I spit at him, and the 2 OCs before some skulks riped him apart.
Was it worth the 10-20 res the comm spent on him? DAMN RIGHT, he destroyed 20 res in OCs, opened an area for attack and killed a gorge! I think alot of people are WAY overanalizing this and speculating too much. I find it hard to believe that the next version of NS will Suck in any significant way. They havent let us down yet. Please refer to diagram #1.
