<div class="IPBDescription">From front page news</div> Hey guys!
We've been working on this baby for awhile, and we've announced it. Heres' the news, from the just-updated news on n-s.org:

<b><span style='color:red'>NS v2.1 ATI Tournament Announced</span></b>
With the generous sponsorship of ATI, we are proud to announce the first Official International Natural Selection Tournament! ATI has generally donated thousands of dollars in prizes, in the form of six new ATI 9800 Pros, one for each member of the best clan. We asked ATI if they were interested in sponsoring an NS tournament, and a couple weeks later, these six cards showed up, with an extra for our own use. One thing's for sure, we're going to make sure NS always runs great on ATI hardware.
The tournament will start right after the release of NS v2.1 (coming soon). To assure that all teams have a fair chance, we are opening up the Veteran program to any and all active clans interested in participating in the tournament. Yes, you read that correctly. Any and every active NS clan interested in participating in the tournament will be given Veteran status and allowed to playtest the beta builds, regardless of your location or experience. All that matters is that your clan is active, which means you play at least four scrims a week on NS beta servers. Inactive or disruptive clans will lose access.
With plenty of bug-fixes, maps, and new features in v2.1 (more news on this soon), it's a fresh new game, and the most balanced and varied NS yet. With hundreds of Constellation Members already giving their valuable input on the public side of the game, we need plenty of active clans to scrim regularly and help us balance the clan aspect of the game.
No application will be refused. Your team will be judged on only one factor: activity. Teams that prove themselves to be inactive will be removed from the program immediately.
<b>Tournament Details and Format</b>
The tournament will kick off with the public release of 2.1. Prizes include the Radeon 9800s, custom icons, and other unannounced goodies.
Don't worry about the competition, either. Clans will be separated into two divisions based on skill, with prizes available in every division. Separate tournaments will also be held in America, Europe, and Australia (no clans will be refused on location). The winners from each country will go on to face each other in a round-robin finals series that will blow you away. The finals will be internationally broadcast on HLTV.

That's awesome.
This tournament is gonna go way hard and chew some testes.
Ps: I request to put eR in the skill level in which eR has the highest chance of winning some radeons <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
This is a real coup for the NS team, good job guys.

I hate to bring this up now, but if you mean what you say, please send ATI an email requesting they look into their card's performance in NS (and all Half Life mods). I have a 9800 pro and get 30 FPS in big fights. My GF2 GTS does better. I've tried every suggestion I've ever come across for fixing it, so I don't think there is much else I can do on my end to fix it. I just think it will be funny to be competing in a tournament with my Geforce 2 for a card I have sitting on my shelf.

Seriously? must be a personal card problem... My friend gets constant 80-100 with his radeon 9800. Or he got lucky *shrugs*
edit: and BTW, ATI does have it in ther infobase:
<a href='http://www.ati.com/support/infobase/4280.html' target='_blank'>http://www.ati.com/support/infobase/4280.html</a>
However, this problem has been around since the cards came out, and when I see them adding "smartshader" effects I doubt that the issue is getting the attention it deserves.
Just remember to keep us spectators updated too! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Perhaps then you will be competeing to get your money's worth, seeing as how you will get the same card, with a higher probability of not having the same error. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> And yes I have heard of people at my school having problems with their 9xxx's, they weren't playing NS, but if I can I'll ask and see what's up. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

Same problem with 9600pro here. Crappy FPS, worse than my my old GF 2 MX400 64bits...
I'm change my mobo soon, so if it get fixed, it has something to do with compability between the 9x00 and the chipset.

MmmHmm.
I have a normal 9800... non pro (was free)
D/L the windows options thingy... and change open GL settigns around... worked for me (I forget the full name of that program) but it is on the ATI D/L under drivers. I think it is the same for the 9800 and 9800 pro.
