I was referring to the fact that when you have 10 players and you get prizes for six, it will cause some in-fighting. Participants are going to need to work out what they do before hand.
I'm using GeForce. Can I still participate? <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Meaning I'm basically out of the running, but hey, this still sounds great.
This is extremely generous of ATi to do, I've never even heard of anything like this. Especially since NS is a relatively small time mod with a smaller, yet highly dedicated, fanbase.
This goes a long way towards keeping me an ATi customer, I feel bad for having talked so much smack about them in the past before the R9xxx series:(
Hopefully the mod will get some good press coverage from this.

Handman - divvying up the cards is a bridge we'll cross when we come to it, if we come to it. Yes it will probably cause drama, but as Frikk (I think) said, it makes the most sense to hand 'em out to those who played the most.
To those of you getting poor framerates with Radeon 9xxx cards, there is a simple solution! Turn off Truform! Truform is a shader that breaks down player and weapon models, then reconstructs them in higher detail form. It makes organic models look great, as they become even more curvy, but it looks kinda odd on TSA weapons. The old Radeon 8500 used first generation truform, and that wasnt very card intensive. The new generation truform however, seems to be a lot more intensive. Just turn it off, and your framerate will be fine.
On Topic: w00t! It looks like I shall have to acquire large quantities of popcorn, and a comfy chair, cause Im gonna be watching a lot of HLTV in the near future...
This looks really great and I am going to be entering my clan into this. I jsut have one question though...for the testing part, you have to participate in at least 4 scrims a week. I am in a large clan that plays many games. We have about 20 active players in NS, but at various times of the day. A lot of these guys are professionals out in the real world doing jobs ranging from Olive Garden managers to IT pros to NASA aerospace engineers to letter carriers. We all love to play NS and all really want to help make the new version of NS even better.
We may not be the best players around, but we have heart and determination. Even more importantly, we have many computer geeks that DO beta testing for other games...some even for a living.
Would it be possible to have more than 10 clan members be involved in the actual beta testing part of this while still only having 10 involved in the tournament?
What battle said...and I am all for a professional claner tag rather than a vet tag...
It may seem petty, but I feel that if anything I am a Claner that plays NS as much as I can, but as far as being here before the beginning, that is a vet...
Maybe even a level or something. Professional Claner is what we start out at, but after time we go to vet status.
Also there are a lot of icons floating around out there, anyone have an idea on the order of importance, will constellation show up over vet, will server admin show over a PT...just random questions.

Seriously. I believe "Veterans" no longer accuratly describes their status within the NS community. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> I thought the name veteran was pretty lousy to begin with. Vet at what? You're a vet at the game? That's basically saying that everyone who isn't a vet is a stupid n00b who doesn't know what they're doing. In the case of 'veteran', everyone that played 1.04 should get Veteran, no?
I have an ATI 9700 and some things I had to do to get it working right was changing 2 HL commands ati_npatch "0" and ati_(whatever the other command is) "0". After doing this I installed a free program that changed the ingame refresh rate (I changed mine to 85), after this I got a lovely looking screen and 100fps constantly. I was frustrated as well early on until I changed these commands etc... If this still affects your system, make sure it is not other components (ie motherboard restriction etc...).
how about to beta test a new version of ns before it's release to the public, have fun, learn about the clan scene. gg squishy. how about you leave your comments somewhere else. thanks

Anywho its a legitimate question except for the fact I just noticed theres a beginners division. Pssht anyway don't blame me for the learners curve I was being realistic.

There will be at least 2 skill divisions, possibly 3, for just that reason. The radeons go to the winners of the international finals, but there should be some cool prizes for every division.

But how will timezone and server ping issues be solved? Are we going to play CW on 2 servers, or server in "middle" (Iceland? ;-) ? Europe is 8 (+-) hours ahead so if you set time of match at 20:00 we would have to play at 04:00 :-))

took me 30 minutes to install the fully complex system.. after this ordeal and bandwith wastage of downloading a massive program, it works.. < 10 servers pop up (with playable ping in aust)
after joining i see 10 bots... and no real people...
i use console and it is full shocking.. cant tell how much rt's nor message hist....
i then quit.. 30 minutes coming back to it, the steam server is gg'ed
after 3 hrs it works for 15 minutes and steam server crashes again...
