Well, Ns_Christmas is coming along just wonderful. I still have 1100 wpolys in Marine Spawn but that's the only high r_speed area, I know I can null more faces so that should come down (I'm hoping) to around 750 - 800.
I still need to add a new area: "Belgarion's Lair" and move the Workshop hive farther from the Vending hive. (This would suck if Rines got siege inbetween the two O_o) but other than some nulling, naming and polish it's basically done. Look for a public beta tomorrow sometime. Here are some screens to keep you intrigued.

Tch tch, I get the feeling some aren't familiar with the method of map creation that adds thematic detail, connects areas, then comes back and adds better detail and lighting. I saw one outdoor and one sorta-outdoor area so far, so would like to order a recount there.

I don't believe it says in the Guidelines, that maps must be of a certain size or detail. So long as the r_speeds are 700 max in first person and 1000 max in commander mode and the hives are equidistant. By no means would this get accepted as official (Laff, Laff) but it DOES meet all requirements. Just because the premise is silly, it doesn't mean the gameplay couldn't be serious.
I see why some would call this a "fun" map sure but that was not my goal with this map and if it comes to be known as a fun map I probably won't release it at all. Yes it is small. No, few areas are outdoors, only Marine Spawn and the Candy Cane Fields are outside, the rest takes place inside caves or santa's shop. Furthermore, on the not properly lit... what would you call proper? I use a light_spot for the outside sun and texture lights everywhere else. If you have seen "light" entities in screenshots, those are test lights and not how the map will actually look. I will be writing the .rad file myself and using a chop 32 / smooth 80 / extra on my RAD settings, how improper is that?

IF it got official I'd kiss your feet and meet all your sexual needs for all of eternity *Chuckle* <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
I agree. Hades will freeze before this map gets official. O_o
All I'm trying to say is... I don't want my map categorized with maps like Ninja_Fall.
