Yes, they did not resist the temptation to make premature announcements about the release date which turned out to be misleading. But anyone who has tried computer programming himself will not blame them for the delay.

Nonetheless, I uphold my claim that these small private tests can only catch technical bugs. Balance issues / gameplay exploits will have to be caught in public play.

Who cares about post counts? Just quit this silly argument.

This is an example of what the NS community is really trying to avoid. Please act like civilized people everyone. If you feel like someone needs to be put in there place, dont do it yourself, just ask or pm someone important (forum Mod) and voice your concern. But please don't turn this community around, because what we have is really a good thing.

Jeez self righetous, noob, bringer of S###, above human bein, all I said was that the is going to be great, better that CS, just because I never posted before doesn't mean that you guys have to start throwing mud, is this the way you guys treat all other forum jockeys who are new to the NS forums just looking for some conversation about the game.

Actually the argument had started before you made your post, don't worry. And welcome to the community, Jops hope you enjoy yourself here

And, now, let us move on to bigger and better things!

Don't worry Jops, I don't think any of the rude remarks were directed towards you. (Edit: Insane beat me to it.)

CD: Well... Sort of a silly claim if you ask me. Especially considering all the exploits and balance issues that have already been "fixed". I would definitely whole-heartedly agree with anyone that said that the majority of exploits and several balance issues will, in fact, be caught once the game is released to the public (and only then)... But to say controlled/private tests don't catch any of them... Nuh Uh!

The game is being balanced right now, and exploits are being caught. Though, yes... it can't be perfect, and things will come up only when released to the public. It can't be avoided, really... but things certainly are being done about the issues in the private tests.

(Unless that's all you were getting at anyway. )

Hell, I only do HTML and I feel for them, one typo can screw things up, mixing up your commands does the same, and there's always the possibilty that something won't do quite what you thoght and then you've got to go hunting.

Yes, I was, and we agree. I just fear that many people here are soothing their impatience with the hope of a 100% flawless release, and they might be disappointed when they learn that such a thing is not possible without huge resources.

If I remember right, Stainless Steel pulled such a thing off with Empire Earth. I think not a single gameplay patch was necessary due to the extensive beta test.

Okay I understand that the game won't come out 100% ready, but what you guys have done so far is incredible, keep up the good work, good things take time and I'm sure it will be well worth the wait.

no one expects a perfect first release, and it wont scar the mod forever. look at cs's beta one, it was a joke

a more polish release would be better than an abrupt 1.0 (i know this has been said about 1000 times)
