Most clans have both so that they can betatest and still play matches. I'll keep the old one until 3.0. I cleaned up most of the old hl folders that I didnt need. I would say at least download and install steam now if you have room, cus later you may have a problem if you wait til the last minute. Also by following the instructions given on this forum you should be able to play NS on steam relatively error free. Actaully I noticed at least one server who's traffic has gone way up since converting. Freaks converted early on anticipating a quick release, but they are pretty much always full now and have a higher sustained traffic than most won servers as they have people on 24/7 due to being one of the few decent servers on steam that isnt beta.
Considering a great deal of people are either Constellation or Vet by now, and the only way to play 3.0 is on Steam, I would say most people are on Steam.
As for me, I recently deleted NS for WON, but occasionally I might go play Sven Co op or Rocket Crowbar2 on WON.
