I have some time on my hands today so I thought I would give something back to this fine community.
Animated signatures!
1) The first 5 (five) people to reply to this thread will recieve them here before the end of the day.
2) I have been working alot with Anime as a medium so that is most likely what they will be of.
3) Please feel free to post suggestions, but realise that the signature will be left to my disgression.
4) Please handle yourselves in a adult fashion.

Both are over the size limit, and if you do not remove them an admin will.

Yes, as he said, this will be an issue, as much as you would hope it to be not... These forums have a strict rule about avatars and signatures (among other things) and sooner or later, these will get removed (if used).

What?
As long as it's hosted somewhere else it will never be taken down.
Sigs can be enourmous sizes, as long as they don't put a strain on the server.
the reasons behind such ruling are for your saftey, as well as ours.
these rules have been put in place to keep the forums neat and tidy, allow 56K users to interact with those that are on broadband, and (i know it sounds bad) keep things uniform.
imagine if Forlorn was right, and i add in a 1600x1200 4MB signature (remotly hosted mind you... because i can)... what strain does this cause?
it might not cause strain on this server, because it's not "hosted" here... but this server has to call the redirect, and then again, why would YOU want to load a 4MB signature every time you came to the forums?
if it's too big, it'll be taken down....
too much if u ask me
i think 50-70 kb should work fine
although i like limits, they raise creativity, and u care what u do and not just making some nonsence animations
Too bad about the size!
For 200kb the animation is not smooth enough, and could be alot smoother in that file size with a bit of tweaking.
The shadow effect on the text makes it look ugly, and the font looks rubbish as well.
....

By size I meant file size, of course it can't be too large in pixel width or else you will clutter up the forums.
But why limit something like file size?
Who cares if it's big?
Friendly for 56k'ers? It wouldn't be anymore friendly or less friendly with bigger filesizes in sigs.
These boards operate so that the first thing loaded is the background, the template, then the text and topic and all the valuable stuff.
Next come the avatars, and then the sigs. So the sigs will never get in the way of your forum browsing, as the text will continue to load at the same rate.
The 56K'er may never actually see what the sig contains, but meh, who cares. I remember when I was on a 56K, and images took forever to load, even the ones on these forums.
And therefore I simply just read the text and clicked on the 'next page' button and if there were some sigs and stuff that wasn't loaded, I didn't care.
So again, why may I ask, is making the file sizes big?
I guess it shouldn't be something enourmous, say like 30 megs, but I think a 2 MB file size limit would be perfectly acceptible. The pixel dimisions should always be kept in place, however, as to avoid cluttering of the forums.

While they may be the last thing to be downloaded, it's still going to download. That means, any downloads you have going will be affected by it.
