Well, it's not frags but, yes they also get points for building.

I'd presume why they removed the pit of doom is because like most other pits of doom you can build down there.

The Gen room pit of doom specifically was a great spot to drop a sensory chamber and a few dcs. The rines would figure they were up the top and never look down into the pit of doom.

Other pits of doom could have a comm chair and massive loveshax built in them, it'll be interesting to see if they fixed it in 3.0.
Can someone drop a few dcs off the edge of the res node in the middle of nowhere between cargo and alpha hives and see if they die? The map with the weldable resnode door near ms and eq hive (as you can probably figure i forgot the name)

I just wanted to show what happens when you try and camp in DC fallout shelters. Note the beginning of a 22 Siege Salute.

1 Ping to kill them all...

What change affects bunkers like that? Is it siege target acquisition or something?

You wonder if 3.0f killed the long game?

3 hours and look at our comm's score.

Was it fun? 3 hours of NS always a good thing if it's entertaining.

Even our big tough marines love a good show now and then.

Considering it was probably a stalemate, no. I remember 3 hour games on 1.04 Nothing that were more than just the marines in base vs. aliens with full map coverage. It was marines in Cargo slowly moving out, gaining ground, being anhilated and then starting fresh, usually eventually winning by taking control of the map, or losing by a gorge dropping the hive and Oni and whatnot MC'ing into the hive.

Most long games aren't that fun anymore. It's a combination of a weak alien end-game and a strong marine end-game, even when about to lose.

Just a custom sprite you can find in an extreamly old "official sprites thread" in the custom forum. I used them all during 1.04.

Its from Rammstein's NS pack, which is still active. Its the blip0 and blip1 sprites. Linky

Also, the new Port Engine Hive. Some people have been complaining that they can actually walk under it now.

This poor, poor man can no longer blast Subspace Hive safely from the vent. Can't you feel his pain (or the pain he will feel when he tries to kill it)?
