Your intuition tells you that it is, indeed, possible. However, you also realize that with the addition of such a mechanism, you run the risk of overloading the power-supply, and the circuits you would have to re-route could (not definetly) cause critical functions to fail. Its risky, but not entirely irrational.
"Well, I could try to fix this thing, but I can't promise anything. Power supply isn't designed for that kind of drastic expansions, so it might fail if I try."
*Valin looks up from his book, brought out of his reverie by the mutterings and the pinpoint of light dimly illuminating the world outside.* “Aw, it’s not too bad...you should try growing up on one of those off-world mining colonies – nothing’s as remote as those.” *He puts his book back in his pocket, and stands up to do some stretching.*
{The floor rumbles once again, and the moon starts to grow larger. Within minutes, the large ship descends through clouds of noxious gas, and enters a hangar connected to the research colony. The massive doors close behind the ship, and the hangar begins to fill with oxygen.}
*Looks up at Stuart.* "We can't leave just yet, the docking bay hasn't been depressurised. Open that door and we all explode." "Sheesh, you ever traveled by ship before?"
*Finrod is still fiddling with the PDA, trying to take it apart and check out the internal parts without destroying anything*
{You watch as Finrod installs a small piece of circuitry, and a strip-antannea. The case is carefully slid back into place. Flipping the device on, you notice no ill effects, and the new components "firmware" seems to be showing up and performing normally.
The some gas is expelled from the ship's airlock. It pulls open, and you look out into the hangar, which is oddly clean. As the scent of cleaners fills your nose, a scientest with wild hair enters, and motions for you all to come out.}
"Thank you Fin." *Calawen takes the PDA from Finrod and plays around with it before sliding it into the innards of her trench coat.* "Now I can finaly get out of this rank, oversized whale." *She stands up and streaches then walks of the ship into the docking bay, standing by just outside of the ships airlock doors.*
OCC: I'm kinda away at weekends. My character will just trail along behind group. Should be back on sunday though.
*Valin narrows an eye at the wild-haired scientist before walking slowly past the others and into the compound.* “Hmm...smells better than the ship. I might just like it here.”
*Calawen admires Finrods 'toy' from beside the ships ramp. She leans back, slouching on it for a moment before slowly sinking into the organic epidermis of the ship. Quickly she pulls away from it and walks towards the scientist.* "Ugh!?! I'm not taking one of those on the journey back." *Calawen approaches the scientist nonchalantly and greets him.* "Greetings, we're the MG Corps you requested. I'll skip the formalities, where do you want us?"

<Dr. St. Clair> First allow me to introduce myself. I'm Dr. St. Clair, and I'm in charge of this facility. As for your station, we may come to that in a moment. I assume you're all hungry? I'll take you to the mess hall.

You all walk down the hallway. Dr. St. Claire turns, and walks into a room. The placard above it says "Cafeteria". When you get inside, you are alone with the Doctor. There are several rows of tables and benches. Dr. St. Clair wanders over to a closed window, and picks up six trays of pre-prepared food, sits down, and motions for you all to join him.
"Why is every one so edgy? We all agreed to come here." *Calawen follows the scientist down the corridor into the canteen and takes a seat.* "So Dr. Claire, lets cut the small talk. You had some problems. We're your solution. You care to elaborate about your predicament?" *As she sits Calawen takes a look around, admiring the cleanslynes of the place. And noting postions of the security cameras.*

[Checks if it'd be possible to connect a remote-control system to it, and if it'd be risky to try it]

"No other reason I'd want to be on this rock."
*Finrod starts taking the PDA apart, checking how to best implement a remote control system.*

*Walking out into the hangar, Finrod picks up his remote control and races the drone beside him out of the ship, jumping it down the hanger floor*
"Whoo, it's spinning just fine"
*The drone races around the hanger in circles, around and over different obstacles, before following Finrod into the station.*
