Does it have "I almost cut my hair."?

But no, I'm gonna let my freak flag flyyyyyy!!

I might pick it up sometime. Though I've got BF1942 and this doesn't sound all that much different.

Ah, now there's the problem. I believe I'm on version 1.4 after I uninstalled BF in furious laggy rage and then reinstalled after Steam decided to scupper my chances of playing DoD again. The problem? The full patch (1.5-1.6 is only step available) is apparently over 120 megabytes and I can't find any damn magazine prepared to put it on their covermounts (that's right PCGamer, go ahead and give us BF mod's WITHOUT THE LATEST FUGGING VERSION YOU IDIOTS) ...excuse me. I don't believe some of the dial-up claims I've heard... playing a 64 player server with no lag my arse.

Meh, I guess I can always buy BF:V and return it if my machine can't take it.

Edcrab: The netcode is the same as BF1942's after the latest patch. If you still have it, reinstall and patch it up and if turns fine (the code was reworked a whole bunch and is a LOT better than 2 years ago) then you should be okay for BF:V.
    <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Sorry, but this isn't true. Loads of people (including me) are experiencing a tremendous amount of lag. So much that we can't even turn without being set back into our original position. While some of the code might be identical, they clearly did screw up somewhere.

As it is now, the game runs worse than the first couple of versions of bf1942. Sadly.

(and for the record, yes, I've tried every single fix. I've even tried setting everything to low. No luck)

aaarrrgh I've seen that as well, but its the servers. Most of the people are probably just running servers when they really shouldn't be. I was on one last night though, 40 players, silky smooth no problems whatsoever, it was beautiful. But I've been on some horrible ones too. I guess it'll take a bit till there's a ton of serves and people can stop being forced to play on the laggy ones...

Bought the game, but can't get past the splash screen, I immediately get an error in xp, something to the effect of "bfvietnam.exe has encountered and needs to be closed, we're sorry for the inconvenience." A quick scan of ea's forums and planetbattlefield indicates that i'm one of many having the same problem, and truthfully, for EA to release a game in such condition is deplorable.

Yes I got CD 3 yesterday. Played it and it blew off my socks off. Its like BF1942 but so much cooler.

Oh and it works on my GeForce 2 MX and doesn't look that bad!

Now I'm off to go and jump in a Jeep and blare Somebody To Love out the radio!

Negative. While it does seem to be an issue on servers with loads of players, there's simply no explanation as to why it happens on, for instance jolt's server.

Guess I'll just have to wait for a patch.

yea I installed this game the other day and the only thing I get is please insert the correct CD.

One might figure that any one of the CDs from the GAME BOX would be the right one.

Desert Combat has been offering this for ages now, and frankly I have a lot more fun playing DC than BF:V .

If they make a DC mod for BF:V that would be supurb, as there are lots of gameplay features in BF:V that could really shine in a mod. But BF:V as a stand-alone product? Not my cup of tea I'm afraid. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
