Best Day Ever.

I love today.
First off- no, I haven't been granted any money. But this is why the day is so great:

I find out I'm passing in 5 out of 7 classes.

I plant the seed to lead someone to Christ today(he's really interested it seems).

I got chores done early and fast.

I got to play great games for a quite a long time already.

I just found out I got accepted to the Lineage 2 beta, as well as the Atriarch beta(for atriarch, I dont' know what stage).

And I don't think life could get any better unless I found a girlfriend. MAN today KICKED SERIOUS BEHIND!

And sorry to anyone having a bad day or life right now (Sorry DOOMeh, love ya man).

j/k, I don't win access to betas every day because I don't like MMO games.

And on a related subject, anyone else ever notice that when they're feelin crappy they only seem to read/hear abotu peopel having good days, and when they're feeling great they only read/hear abotu people having crappy days?

All the other things sound great.... except this one.

I'm sorry, but can you let people believe what they want to believe without having to force them to your belief. Well, if he came to you asking for information, that's cool, nothing wrong with that, religion is a very personal thing, and it's just flat-out insulting to have someone try and "convert" you or, well, pressure you into joining "their side".

Infact, there are few things in this world that irritate me more than people forcing their beliefs on others.

I had a friend (Mormon) try and convert me (Unpracticing catholic)... that was hilarious... its like blasphemy to even think about it ... I'm not going to tolerate any religion-bashing here.

"Planted the seed" does not mean he tied the guy down and shoved a bible down his throat. It means he said "this is what I love about Christianity!" and the guy he was talking to went "hmmm!"

For some people, religion (or specifically Christianity, in this case) can provide a much-needed foundation in their life that might otherwise be lacking. It's not for everyone, but don't knock it. It works for some people.

    Moderation either way, mes amis.

If you believe in something and it might help, fine, tell someone if they're interested. Likewise however, don't preach. It doesn't do your reputation or their opinion any good.

Possibly the terming wasn't too good, because it implies intent to 'convert' someone, rather than offering an alternative. I think that's where esuna was coming from coilsta.

Nah, i wasn't intending to bash religions, as i said, it's your belief and you're free to believe in whatever you like. I'm not in any place to tell anyone how they should live their lives, and personally, i believe this is how everyone should see it. If someone's not the same religion, so what? I have catholic, athiest, muslim and jewish friends, none of whom will make any attempt to preach of "plant the seed" in me, just as i won't do the same to them. As i said, if he was asking, or was genuinely leaning that way as it was, that's cool, but if he had no interest in the start, it's, well, just quite rude.

How can someone learn of a religion without being told?

    Offering: good.

Persisting in the face of refusal: annoying.

    Crusade: bad.

Not much to be king of though, is it?

I found out today that I suck badly at maths in college, which is decidedly annoying after breezing through elementary.

bah, I'm with esuna on this one. the only person who would need to be 'informed' about christianity would be someone who was living in a box for the first umpteen years of his life. therefore it's preaching 99% of the time. esuna didn't say Q tied the guy down and shoved a bible down his throat... I think esuna would be with me when I say it just rubs people like us the wrong way to think about an impressionable youth being nudged toward a belief system without having the opportunity to hear about the veritable rainbow of belief systems out there... it's been christianity's method of spreading for centuries: be the first group to get your missionaries out to the people who don't know any better, before they have a chance to see what's out there...

Today I learnt about invoices and tables and files and chaos.

You may also care* that I wrote out a cheque for "Fluorocarbon Bakeware," which may be the best company name ever.
