    The reason that the dev's don't have models this detailed is that some people's computers couldn't handle that many polies. It would cause really low framerates on older machines.

    Not quite.

    Each of the buildings boast polycounts higher than their default counterparts, in some cases doubling the detail (and in some cases, the polycount tripled -- check out the res tower).

    While I'm certainly not complaining, the reason this pack would not make it as default is because of the simple numbers game; it would cause too much slowdown for low-end PCs.

    Ive always thought the official marine models went for the underfunded-yet-still-somewhat-futuristic look. They are meant to look not-all-that-awesome. On the other hand, Dill's specOp's are meant to look pwnage. specOps in real life dont get any less than the best.

    Thats why Ive always hoped that Flay would pick these up for the second marine team when he makes MvM.     yes it is a totall higher poly count at the end but i tried to get as many details as i couln onto it without letting them explode i think i stayed in a very low poly area for the amount of deatails on the buildings


    p.s. until now i didnt recoginze a drop in my fps 8)

    My computer is over 2 years old and the only performance upgrade i have done is buying a new gfx (and thats was a year ago or so) still I can run Far Cry and games alike with great graphics and decent fps. So my word of recomendation is to buy the 2nd best there is of every thing = not big difference in performance but much lower price.

    Now back to the spec ops 2 pack.

    Dev recognition doesnt neciciarly mean replacement of current NS models, they are fine - and yes low end computers struggle with default models still anyways lol - not everyone has a super computer.

    If anything, someone should just sweep it under on the official NS site as the un-official high poly ns pack - or not even host it - just mention a link to sushi's site. I'm pretty sure that the NS model team will someday get bored and make a high-poly OFFICIAL ns pack...

    but i dont see that happening any time soon...

    so for now...

    NS dev team had their designs. dillinja has his. therefore I hope it doesn't go into ns officially because it's not how ns was meant to be. that doesn't mean it isn't good looking.     I got a Nvidia G-force fx 5600 ultra, i think i can handel this pack, the only thing i need to update is my moniter.
    Its only a 60Hz moniter, i want at least a 80Hz moniter so i can have 80Fps in games!
