This is actually getting really irritating now. I can hardly <i>ever</i> connect to games. I've downloaded the patch for the game so I have no idea what to do next. I did manage to play a couple of games, which rocked <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Ok, I got the full version. And WOW. First off, single player is MUCH better than it was in the first Splinter Cell(which sucked.). And multiplayer maps rock too. GG(litterally this time).
I dunno - the single-player's getting a bit repetitive <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> I just completed the jerusalem missions and am definitely not seeing too much variation - I just whistle, wait till the guard come over, blast him in the head with a pitol whip rinse and repeat. Maybe I'm not ar enough or something - but it's not quite the same level of awesome I expected it to be.
The muliplayer, on the other hand is wow <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Ok, I've gotten farther. Not as far as you yet Dub, but I don't know what your talkin about. The 2 missions I've done are INCREDIBLY different, and quite fun for both(I especially like the end to "Brain Freeze"...). Good stuff.

There was nothing incredibly gripping that I'ver seen so far - in fact, the single best experience I've had so far was probably the Jerusalem missions - crawling around the rooftops was fun although the clearing-out of the subsequent subterranean base was just...a lot of the same "Sam - you're let loose. Lol, Dubb, you're not supposed to kill anyone... No one is supposed to know you were ever there. You're probably having no fun because, as you said, you are just taking out every gaurd one by one...
I got the demo, now here's a question... how do i make tripmines? I've figured everything else out, haven't tried very much with these.
They're both fun roles, and I quite enjoy playing both sides. If you have a competent teammate and you both use good voice communication though, its almost impossible to lose as a merc. I mean I think out of 25 games as a Merc for me I've only lost 4, and 3 were due to a teammate who could not/refused to communicate with me.
And as for not killing mercs goes... After you get all 3 points within 3 minutes without dying you need something else to do for the other 7 minutes. :P Kill mercs till they're all dead or if you start to get in any danger of losing hack the last point which you cleverly left at 1 second.

if you want to know how to do something you can generaly find it out by simply looking in the configs.
As for the 'sound sensor', I am assuming you are talking about the Merc's hud (where it points in the direction of any spy noises). IF this is what you mean then it is not that over powering if you play against competent spys as they will either be stealthy (thus no sounds) or trick you with it (make a noise then quickly get some where else)
ther eis also a spy toy in the full game that is a noise emiter <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
hmm, I just remembered something I had realised before: Killing off mercs actualy makes the game HARDER for spys.
Most mercs will drop all of their mines/traps asap.
The problem there is that if you (like I often end up doing) don't die, you are now out of traps. especialy if they trigger/disarm any.
Now each time you kill a merc you give him a full inventory, thus giving him more of the building covered <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Only time I ever snapped a neck(thats right kids, just once), was in a perfect situation:
I, hiding on the LINE of the shadows, crouched there, waited. He litterally walked by, and continued that way, slowly. I finally got up, grabbed him, and dragged him into the shadows WITHOUT HIS BUDDY, 5 FEET AWAY noticing. That was fun. Especially when I killed him, then climbed up a nearby pipe to drop down on his buddy. Game Over Mercs!
