    Marine vs Marine play has been done already - though it is for Combat. Currently, to my knowledge, there are two maps for Marine vs Marine NS; co_sillyv3 and co_cs_assaultm (something like that). Alien vs Alien is also in the works, I believe.

    Anyway... Since it's something that will totally change the way NS is played, I doubt it has anything to do with aesthetic things, such as new particle systems or new maps. Some of the guesses in here are pretty good though, in my opinion. We'll just have to see.

    I'm thinking the same thing. It could also incorporate the icon DB, maybe even let you switch between icons if you have more than one, or display multiple icons.

    However, when you consider that our last "big suprise that everyone wanted" was the mostly pointless hand grenade, you might not want to get your hopes up. I will anyway, using the justification that Flay won't make stupid blunders like that very often.

    i don't think the hand grenades are useless. they scared me as a lerk from sitting in a vent just gassing the marines in their base constantly with impunity, and that is exactly why they were added to the game.

    you know with the infomation you have concluded in this thread, they could very well put defusal into natural selection. someone said cagey's in on it, so obviously they need a mapper. joev would help with the distribution/brain storming and flayra makes teh code. no mention of max, maybe he's full time ns2 now....

    Lol that'd be great, but some of the higher ups, when people started making illigit maps already stated that ava and mvm is NOT supported and has no plans of being supported for a long time. So that can't be it.

    Flayra has already said that he'd like to implement MvM and AvA eventually, but it hasn't gone beyond that yet. It's still a possibility and he's never said how long it would take.

    Skulk vs. Skulk fights with marine spectators are great though. It's like cockfighting. All we need now is credit gambling and some new maps.
