if the reason you couldnt have 2 barrels is the muzzle flash you can add another muzzle flash. im not positive how, but i know go0py did it with his turret and his seige.

This is the Engineering Facility - or as far as NS is concerned - the Arms Lab. For some reason I changed my mind again and decided to start doing animations as well, so a good deal of these buildings are animated.
I'm gonna have to start working harder, so you all can expect both the Academy (Proto Lab) and ComSat Station (Observatory) tomorrow. I think the Siege Tank (obvious replacement for the Siege Turret) will probably take me a whole day, but we'll see. so besides those 3, the only other marine building left is the Comm Chair.. and I'm still thinking of how to do that. Anyway, hope you all like them.
And again, if there is a skinner out there interested in making these models look kick ****, PLEASE let me know.
A standing terran marine would be awsome for a turret, although it probably wouldn't explain why you have to build him <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Perhaps just setting up the suit, then an imaginary person on your team jumps in it.

Hmm, I don't know, I think having people as the turrets could get pretty confusing... Especially since my HA model is a Starcraft marine. Thanks for the ideas though, got anything roting in there about the CC? : ).

Plus they aren't skinned yet, but Tiki-Wuku Man over at NSarmslab forums says he's willing. And so I'm posting all the files for him (or anyone else who wants to for that matter) and better images for everyone else - along with the tiny images that my work has been based off of. *AND as a special bonus the .mdls are included, most animations are finished but the skins are black with white lines still...

some of those models look a bit wrong on the Y axis, looking at the starport, its quite flat, then looking at the armory, its like double its normal height
yup CoolCookieCooks, you're right. thats cause i had to match them the best i could to the NS counterpart. like the armory - in star craft it is a generally wide and flat object, but in NS its mostly tall and thin. the starport is doubling as the phasegate (which people walk right through - there is no box that people stand on), so the model had to be very short. an unfortunate problem, but thats the only way i thought of to deal with it - the other option being to disregard the NS size's completely - but then the skulks could hide inside the models as they ate them, or large sections could be in walls, or marines standing on top of them could be floating or submerged inside them. also these renders are a touch exagerated, its not near as noticable ingame.
so you may not like that CoolCookieCooks, but it had to be done (heh, i don't like it either, but i can't make a building 5 storys high). its also over double the polys of the original IP (it is 237), but i couldn't make this with very many fewer polys and still have it look like a Starcraft Barracks. but 500 polys isn't that many anyway, so i'm not upset with it.

i like these ideas, but some of them dont work at all. it would be better if instead of having them be resized starcraft models, have them look starcraft=ish. like on the restower you have a door. a door for what? mice? bunnys? i suggest remove the doors on the models, and dont worry so much about making them look exactly like certain starcraft models, and just like they could be from the game of starcraft.
well, my idea for these is to have the building's size not be important. if you go back and look at Starcraft, soldiers are 1/4 the size of tanks, and 1/8th the size of buildings. the control tower which attaches to the starport -> which should in reality be at least 5 storys high, is about twice the size of a soldier. what i'm doing is just a continuation of that exageration.
the only exemption of this "rule" is the infantry portal, as having a block which people spawn out of simply doesn't work visually. you can think of it as a multi-story building with several stories missing on the center row, lol - at least thats how i justify it.
i realized i was just being stupid, the Terran Command Center is actually an oval, i just hadn't seen it. hope you all like it, only obs and siege left - but slight postpone to mesh funbags' lmg.
the left is a render close to what it would be if i could have it sideways, the right is what it has to be. i don't hate it, but... i don't know, i just don't like it that much. the animations are pretty sweet though, its got a hinge on there with 4 seperate pieces that fold into eachother, and a MASTER bass : ) - at least thats what it looks like (which is one reason i don't like it - it just looks like a tricked out speaker). let me know what you guys think.

hmm, thats what the lid openning was supposed to be for, but i see what you mean. i'll think about it awhile and see how i can change it tommorrow.. though then i wont be 2 polys off the original : (, lol.
