<div class="IPBDescription">Welcome to hell</div> I might set up a new RPG have a look and PM me if you interested. The RPG will be free roaming and you will make the story. Not everyone will be on the same side and all non-combat classes are just a valued as those who fight.
Have a look and tell me what you think.

<u><b><span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Background</span></b></u>

The year is unknown. Earth is rebuilding after World War Three. Over 5 billion died in that war and the survivors were forced under ground or into hives to avoid the radioactive fall out.
The nuclear winter that ensured wiped out all crops turning fertile lands into barren waste. The radiation caused mutations in all living things. In humans mutants emerged. The survivors killed what ones they could find. Some mutations were more subtle. Unlocking the human psychic they developed telekinesis, clairvoyance or telepathic powers. These ‘Psykers’ were or great use to the human race and put to use.
Our story starts in a hive called Nostromo. It’s location irrelevant, all borders were dissolved, and the names of countries are now long forgotten in the winds of time.
The hive a structure built like a spire several miles high. Shielded from the radiation and sealed from the outside world. Each hive is self sufficient.
At the top of the hive live the upper class aristocracy. They run and rule the lawful upper hive. The ruling families have a council which each of the 12 families have a seat on. With the power of ‘seerers’ (Psykers who can see into the future), they decide on the day to day running of the hive.
Many of the rules families are corrupt. Their selfish and extravagant lifestyles provided by the labour of the lower class workers and slaves.
The mid section of the hive is inhabited by middle class peoples. Mostly those of a trade like merchants, doctors and lawyers.
The hives are policed by Enforcers. They are judge, jury and executioners. They are merciless individuals. Unwavering in loyalty and incorruptible. No one is above their scrutiny. Although few in number when an Enforcer needs back up he will call on the local precinct to provide backup in the form of Marshals. Marshals also deal with the lesser crimes that happen in the Hive. They are the police force.
The lower hive is mainly full of recycling plants and water and air purifiers. These are the industrial heart of the hive. Operated by labourers. They live in cramped environments. Often downtrodden and mistreated by the ruling families. These people form the backbone of the hive. Without them it would cease to run.
Beneath the ground the hive continues into the lawless depths and sewer systems.
Few venture down to these reaches and fewer return. Down in those levels gangs operate and run the lower hive. Gang fights and riots constantly break out. The law of the upper hive mean nothing. Not even the brutality of the Enforcers is recognised. Their uniform may earn them respect in the upper hive, but down in the under-hive it makes them a target.
The hive is currently divided between those who want to leave and set up a life on the land they deserted many centuries ago and those who want to stay. For if the workers were to leave the hive would quickly come to a stand still and the rules families would lose their power.
The future of the hive is in your hands.

<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'><u><b>Classes</b></u></span>

<u><b>Combat</b></u>

<b>Assassin </b>– Assassin are hired out by all sorts. They eliminate members of the ruling families to lowly gangers.
<b>Bounty Hunter </b>– Bounty Hunters are hired when the target is needed alive. Enforcers use them in the under hive, a place where the law can’t go. To bring in those they see a threat. These could be preachers of freedom or people evading the law.
<b>Ganger </b>– Gang members only have respect for one thing, power. They all crave it and form up with others to fight for control of the under hive.
<b>Marshal </b>– These are the police officers of the Hive. Some are on the take from the ruling families or the gangers. Most are straight. Woe betide and Marshal caught not doing his duty be an Enforcer. They have access to some of the best weapons in the hive.
<b>Mutant </b>– Mutants are hated thought the hive. They can only find refuse in the under hive. Some with less noticeable mutations can get away with living in the lower or middle hive. They have mutations of all sorts, some even have psychic powers.
<b>Pit Fighter </b>– Pit fighters are usually forced into their line of work by gangers. Pit fights are held regularly in the under hive. Plenty of money is placed on these fights and many are rigged. The fights are broadcasted though out the hive and it is said some fighters are sponsored by the ruling families.
<b>Thief </b>– Thieves are common in the lower and under hives. Many steal for a living. The best raid the houses of the ruling families. Then lay low in the lower or under hive. Most work for or have connections with gangers or corrupt
<b>Merc </b>- Mercenaries work for the highest bidder. They supply their own weapons. And get the job done or die trying.
<b>Other</b>, if you want a job you name it. I will sort out the details with you.

<u><b>Non-Combat</b></u>

<b>Alchemist </b>– Alchemist are dedicated to find an infinite energy source. In the process they study chemicals and their properties. An Alchemist may make potions and healing balms out of the things he finds and sell them. He may also recognise and detect certain substance in and around the hive.
<b>Engineer </b>– Engineers build and maintain the hive. Their knowledge passed down through generation to generation. Some radical engineers even build knew or improve on existing machines. Though this is frowned apron by the puritan engineers. Both engineers have an understanding and affinity with machinery. They are able to operate the mag-lift trains that run thought the Hive. And may build or modify weapons and equipment for a price.
<b>Healer </b>– Doctors, medics and nurses. All are healers who have and understanding of biology and the human body. They are able to administer first aid and cure most disease that lurk in the hives ageing water tanks and ventilation systems. Some charge for their services.
<b>Miner </b>– Miners have an innate sense of direction and demolitions. They know how to bring down something with the minimum effort. They are practical people who take pride in there work. They receive a stable salary as they are the ones who mine the coal to fuel the hive.
<b>Pysker </b>– Many Pysker develop their powers in their teens. A Pysker must be trained for or is a danger to society. If their powers are not tamed they will run wild. Slowly destroying the Pysker and everything around him. Pysker specialise in different branches. And although physically weak the power they posses is a most potent weapon.
<b>… Smith </b> - Smiths buy and sell. Some things they build other goods are scavenged. Smiths can also modify what they find.
<b>Other</b>, if you want a job you name it. I will sort out the details with you.

Sounds nice. Might be fun for me join - but only if I can have a customizable character. Personally, I'd want a character like J.C. Denton from Deus Ex, maybe an elite member of the Marshals?

If I cannot have something like that, an assassin would do just fine - but I think that you need to define the technology a little more. Ballistics, modern-day weapons, plasma bolters? Nanotech (I would strongly recommend this)?

Finally, is it possible to have a sub-job? Like being a bounty hunter with limited mining abilities?
  • Cleric_EpochCleric_Epoch Join Date: 2003-06-26 Member: 17714Members, Constellation
The technolgy would be slightly more advanced then ours. Though most was lost during the war. Most weapons are conventinal, firing solid rounds. In rare cases there are some laser and plasma weapons, only though the black market or used by the enforcers.
Weapons may be modified or made by weapon/black smiths to have mag lights, scopes and laser targeters on them.
You may multi-class. Like a Pyschic Assasin or be a miner before changing jobs. So you would have some background knowlegde.

    <u><b><span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Weapons</span></b></u>

Please ignore the rules. They are for my benifit. Don't let them get in the way. I have a short description of each weapon. This is not a complete list. And new weapons can be made. Or old ones modifed by smiths.

    <u><b>Combat Weapons</b></u>

In the Under hives all gang members carry some hand to hand weapon. Be it a dagger or steel knuckels. Theses are used to fight or mug anyone they come across.
The Lower hive workers sometimes encounter the under hive scum and use knives to defend themselves. It is not uncommon for workers to carry knives, though most bars and pubs have a no weapon policy.
The middle hive is a civilised place and weapons are frowned upon. They are very rarely seen, most conceled weapons belong to assasins or mercs living or hiding in the mid-hive.
In the upper hives most of the ruling familys sons carry daggers. These are ornate family relics handed down though the generations. Though the welders are not to be underesitmated least they slit your throat.
Power weapons when turned on generate a forcefield around them. Usualy a blue aura that can cut through any known material. They were created long ago and only a few now exsist. They are found in the hands of enforcers, the ruling families or gang leaders.
The power maul used by enforcers is special. The forcefield can be ajusted. On it's highest setting it can smash holes in concreate walls but on a low one it can stun people. Useful in an enforcers line of work.

    Knife/Knuckels – Carried by all
Power Axe/Mace - Ignores normal saves, +1 Str in combat
Power Sword – Ignores normal saves
Power Maul - Ignores normal saves, May stun targets

    <u><b>Pistols</b></u>

Pistols come in a wide varity. The most common are stubbers or auto pistols. Both fire solid rounds, known as bullets. Both can jam but trained users can clear these blockages.
Bolt weapons are best described as mirco rocket launchers. They fire a shell that contains an explosive. Upon impact the shell explodes blowing chunks out of the target. They are highly dangerous weapons but the recoil on them is quite powerful.
Laser or Las weapons have a battery pack that can be recharged. They generate a laser bolt that burns its target. They are easy to maintain and most are relics from the war.
Pistols are favoured for their availibilty and ease of concealment. They can be found all over the hive.

Stub pistol/Auto Pistol* – Str 3, Short Ranged
Bolt Pistol – Str 4, Short Ranged
Las Pistol – Str 3, Short Ranged
Plasma Pistol** – Str 7 / Short Ranged

    <u><b>Rifles/SMGs</b></u>

The rifles in the hive are larger versions of the pistols. Most can rapid fire (When the user stands still he can fire double the number of shots).
The stub gun takes cartriges. These are loaded with pellets that are dispersed when shot. They scatter hitting an area and are lethal at close range and inaccurate at long ranges.
Plasma weapons are fairly new and experimental. They run on hydrogen and fire super heated balls of gas. The weapons creates the plasma and fires it by passing it through a tube lined with magenits. Plasma weapons have been known to overheat and my leak. Severly burning the user.

Flamer - Str 4 / Assault 1 template (No cover saves)
    Stub Rifle/Auto Rifle* – Str 3 / Rapid Fire
    Stubber/Stub gun - Str 4 Assualt 2
    Bolter/Bolt Rifle – Str 4 / Rapid fire
Las Rifle – Str 3 / Rapid fire
    Plasma Rifle** – Str 7 / Assault 1
    Melta Gun*** – Str 8

    <u><b>Heavy Weapons</b></u>

These weapons are rarely found in the hive. Only the mashals can call on them in dire times. Like during a food riot or inserrection. In the under hives these weapons can be brought on the black market, though you never know when an enforcer will find out through an informant.
Heavy stubbers and bolters are designed to fire high amounts of bullets in a short amount of time. They are the ultimate in taking down large amounts of infanrty.
Cannons like the auto cannon and las cannon are anti-tank weapons. They fire powerful shots that leave craters where men should or blow holes in tanks.

Heavy Flamer – Str 5 / Assault 1 template (No cover saves)
    Heavy Stubber* – Str 4 / Heavy 3
    Auto Cannon – Str 7 / Heavy 2
    Heavy Bolter – Str 5 / Heavy 4
    Las Cannon – Str 9 / Heavy 1
    Plasma Cannon** – Str 7 Blast / Heavy 1
    Multi-Melta*** – Str 8 / Heavy 1
Gren Launcher (Frag) – Str 4 Blast / Assault 1
    Gren Launcher (Krak) – Str 8 / Assault 1
    Sniper Rifle/Long Las – Str X / Heavy 1 (Wounds any target on 4+)

    <u><b>Accessories</b></u>

Flashbang – Stuns on failed INT test
HE Grenade – Str 4 blast
Smoke Grenade – Targets in the area can only be shot at after a successful INT test.

*Jams on a 1, and may not be used again
**May over heat on a 1
***Melta weapons cause double damage on all vehicles and structures

And yes they have been nicked from WH40K. The Hive is a take of Necromunda.

    What are plam daggers?
Throwing daggers, combat knifes or Katas?
Throwing daggers can be used in comabt and are balanced, so can be thrown at targets.
Combat knifes are bladed weapons commanly used in hand to hand combat.
Katas are attched to your arms and slide down when activated. Then can be used to parry blows and attack.
Weapons you start with can have no modifications to them. The rest is fine Nate.

I might start this RPG soon. I just need one or two more people.

<i>Enforcer Stern walked down the narrow catwalk, ducking under pipes and vents as he went. The under-hive was warm and stunk. He muttered a silent prayer thanking the thermocoils on his powered armour for keeping him cool and blessing his respirators for giving him clean air.
But that wasn't the worse of it. The under-hives were lawless. A few years back, down in these depths his suit would have earned him some respect. Now with the brutal rise of the gangs he was a target. It was rare for an enforcer to venture this low into the hive, especially by himself. But this was important.
Stern heard a dull beep of his suits warning system in his helmet. He rolled forward landing in a kneeling position on one knee, dodging the snipers shot by a hairs' width.
He snapped his executioner pistol left to right searching for a target.
A red laser dot played over his chest again sending his armours warning system beeping again. It took another shot from his would-be assassin before Stern found where he was hiding. A ganger with a long-las. The weapon fired again sending a bright crimson laser into Sterns' chest. There was a flash but the power armour held. The thermocoils burnt out in that section and the air full of copper stink from the laser discharge. The shot came from below the ganger was hooded but his arm covered in tattoo’s. He ducked down behind a collection of crates, left by tech priest carrying out repairs.
It mattered not. The imagfier in Sterns helmet picked out the gangers body heat in the warmth of the hive and his executioner pistol let fly. The bullet locked into the gangers hottest body part and flew towards it.
The ganger had less then a second to look up before the selftargeting bolt round penetrated his skull and exploded.
"Damn lowborn scum!" Spat Stern annoyed for letting his guard down Then he remembered his mission. Muttering the Litany Of Thanks to his armour again he set off into the depths of the hive.</i>

    Are u Spat Stern?
    Here's my intro:

<i>Bullets riddled the wall behind the crouching Merc leaving bullet shaped gouges in the walls. Seneca rolled firing his auto rifle at a stack of crates and was rewarded by a scream. "Damn Gangers!" he hissed as he hit a crate. The gangers, two now, moved forward slowly their stub pistols searching for the armoured Merc they were sent to kill. All of a sudden he appeared behind a box bursting as the petty criminals ran for cover. A near miss grazed his right arm, but the ganger who fired the shot suddenly screamed and grabbed his leg, which was covered in red. The other ganger sat behind a large crate with a firing hole looking for just one good shot. The only sound he could hear was the pained cries of two wounded gangers. All too late he heard the thud of boots as a arm came round from behind him over his neck, the struggle was brief and one-sided. Seneca cleaned his knife and after finishing off the injured gangers and having got their ammo walked slowly away towards the lower hive. </i>

<i>The council of thirteen gathered unexpectedly. They sat at the upper most point of the hive. Under a dome made of 2m thick tinted quartz. From there they could see for miles on a good day. Today wasn't a good day, but far from it.
The twelve ruling families and Oxidda, the oldest of the seerers, sat around the large oak table.
Outside and above them a storm raged. But this storm was not like any others the council had seen before. The skies were alive with fire and lightening. Thunder shook the hive. Meteors fell from the heavens thankfully none had hit the hive, yet.

The pykers had been first to report a disturbance in the air. Like a vibration that grew stronger as time passed.
Then the Vox and Radio staff, communicating between the hive levels had started to report static interference. It steadily grew worse and worse. Then the Vox channels exploded in static and white noise. All the radio operators had ripped out their ear pieces and tore of their headsets. Their ears bleeding. Most deafened.
Hundreds of sanctioned pskyers were rendered unconscious. Blood steaming from their noses'.
The council had gathered to discuss the threat. In parts of the lower hives the oldest areas had collapsed in the quakes caused by the impacts of the meteors.
Preachers had appeared prophesising the end of civilisation. The local marshals had been quick to silence them. Though some still remained.

Back at the table the heads of the ruling families were arguing again. At the head of the table sat an old man, his body
"I blame the Lamirrans! We know they are witches! This is their dark magicks!" Spat Thane Auriok.
The Lamirran Queen simply smiled and said.
"If we we're witches I would make the blood boil in you body and watch your puny head explode."
Oxidda sat at the head of the table, waved his wrinkled, pale hand and waited for the silence that quickly came.
"This storm is not an omen, but a fulfilment of one."
"I have seen a day when arrows would fall from the sky. And the whole hive must unite or die."
The room ruptured into noise again. Oxidda raised his frail hand again and waited for silence. These meets were tiresome for such an old man. He wished to retire but new there was no such thing for a man like him.
"We must work together. The meteor brings great danger. I have seen it."
"I would rather cut of my own arms then trust the Lamirrans'." Shouted Auriok.
"That can be arranged..." Shiva Lamirra said.
Oxidda lowered his head. This was going to be hard.</i>

Alright, I'm in. This will be my first real RPG.
    Name: Trent Stramos
    Class: Theif
    Sub-Class: Healer
Weapons: Bowie Knife (the end of this long knife is heavy, making it a good slashing weapon - but its shape is bad for stabbing, at least in real life. Its stats are up to you, Epoch), Bolter, Plasma Pistol
Backstory: A homeless theif living in the lower section of the Hive, Trent feels that the outside world is calling to him, but he is trapped in the hellish Hive of Xion. His ultimate goal is to escape. He spends most of his time trying to scavenge enough money to get by in the ganger-controlled sub-Hive. Trent has a few dying values left - he prevented the murder of a marked family by hacking clear through a heavily armed ganger's back with his trusty homemade Bowie knife (this is also how he got his weapons). Unfortunately, this worsened his position to the point where both the gangers and the law will fire at him on sight. Like most of the underclass citizens, he hates the rulers of Xion with all his heart and soul. Trent could not describe a better day than the one in which the last upper Hive dweller would drown in the blood of his bretheren. It has always been part of his plan to use his knowledge of medicine to mix up a biological weapon to be tossed into the upper Hive's closed ventilation system on his way out of Xion.

So, I trust that you'll correct anything I do wrong? Stats and all are a new system for me.

Joining up here, this will be my first forum-driven RPG (I played a PnP like ~4-5 years ago for a coupla months, I'll need reminding especially on the stats and rolls system)

    Name: Budtzing "Smatter" Abound
    Class: Assassin (light and acrobatic)
Sub-Class: Thief (plus very basic healing knowledge, mostly learned the hard way)
Weapons: Silenced auto-pistol, utility knife, strangling cord (rated 500 lbs.) with two sliding handles (the handles are like a small ratchet device; can be slid up and down the cord or be locked into place; the handles themselves are about 3 inches wide)
Backstory: Once a decently respectable middle-class engineer, he had to run when a few of his "debts" got "called". Made his way for a few years as a thief (spent more time in jail than on the street) but discovered his penchant for killing silently when a mugging went wrong. Now trying to make a name for himself in the underworld; he's been at it 4 or 5 years already. He's forgotten already most of his skills as Engineer except for those pertaining directly to his work; mainly maintaining and modifying pistols. He's shot sniper rifles before, but absolutely horrible with heavy weapons or rifles. Too heavy for him anyways.
He has cached items of usefulness about the hive, usually small things like a change of clothes or small-arms ammunition. Occasionally a medkit or two. [I suppose DM gets to decide when he gets to access one of these caches]
Strengths: Agility, acrobatics, endurance, silence, dexterity
Weaknesses: Physically weak (he goes for endurance, not brute strength) and rather susceptible to hostile injury. Not particularly good with people skills.

Well, tell me if this is overpowered, etc. It's my first try <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I don't want to bore or confuse you with the rules. They will be running in the background so you can concentrate on having fun.
I will be using a set of rules mixed from AD&D and Necromunda. The following is the basics.
Each character will have nine attributes:

All characteristics are measured on a scale of 0 to 10. The higher the

    <b>Weapon Skill (WS)</b>
Defines how skilled a warrior is with his weapons in hand-to-hand (HTH) combat, or how determined and vicious a creature is. The higher the score the more likely the fighter will land blows on an opponent in hand-to-hand combat.
A ordinary human will have a weapon skill of 3.

    <b>Ballistic Skill (BS)</b>
Show how accurate a warrior is with ranged weapons such as guns and energy weapons. It also includes a measure of the warrior's technical competence with his weapons. The higher this score the easier a creature finds it to hit when it shoots at something. Some monster have natural weapons that can be used at range (they maybe able to spit venom, for example) and their BS is used to determine weather or not they hit.

    <b>Strength (S)</b>
Shows how strong a creature is. An exceptionally puny creature may have strength 1. Most humans have a strength of 3. Strength tells us how hard a creature can hit in HTH and how easily it can hurt an opponent, or force a door, ect.

    <b>Toughness (T)</b>
Toughness measures a persons ability to resist physical damage and pain, and reflects such factors as the toughness of its flesh, hide or skin. The tougher a creature is the better it can survive enemy blows or shots.

    <b>Wounds (W)</b>
Shows how much damage a person can take before it either dies or is hurt so badly it can't fight any more. Most humans have 1 wound value.
When your last wound is lost you character will be taken <i>out of action</i> and can no longer participate until combat is over. I will make a roll to see what injuries the character has suffered. These can be horrific scars, loss of limbs and even loss of life.

    <b>Initiative (I)</b>

Indicates how alert a character is and how fast it can react. Creatures with a low initiative score are slow and cumbersome; creatures with a high initiative score are much more quicker and agile. In close combat initiative gives faster creatures an edge over slower ones.

    <b>Attacks (A)</b>
Indicates the number of attacks a creature makes during close combat. Most creatures only attack once, although some skilled warriors can strike several times. The number of attacks a creature can make is increased if it has the added impetus of charging it's foe or is fighting using two weapons.

    <b>Leadership (LD)</b>
A character with a high leadership value is courageous, steadfast and self-controlled. A character with a low leadership is the opposite! Peoples of high leadership can lead others, inspiring them on to greater feats of valour, or making them hold fast against fearsome foes.

    <b>Save (Sv)</b>

A person's saving throw gives it a chance of avoiding harm when it is struck or shot. Most creatures have a saving throw based on what armour they are wearing, so their saving throw may be improved if they equip better armour. Other monsters may receive a natural saving throw from having a thick hide or chitinous shell. No armour, means no saving throw.

    <u><b>Normal Human Stats (Your character)</b></u>

    WS - 3
    BS - 3
    S - 3
    T - 3
    W - 1
    I - 3
    A - 1
    Ld - 7
    Sv - N/A

Most actions will be affected by your Stats. They will increase as you gain experience.

The RPG will start tomorrow (Thursday).

Whoa, john, I don't know anything about RPGs but if I known you could make a character with all that stuff I would've myself. Me wants some caches of my own, it would only make sense for a career theif to have some safehouses (read: a matress on a really high ceiling strut only accessible to him and Spider-Man).

Anyways, if we're going to be using colors I call red...

Wait a minute, how do you use colors?

    Use the correct Action quotation, these are;

    <b>Talking ………..“The quick brown fox.”
    Action …………*Epoch rolled into cover.*
Shooting ………[I empty the weapons clip into the target]
Heroic Actions.. {I dive through the glass window}</b>

All Must be done in the right box.
OOC: is for Out Of Character chat. If you want to say something non-related or out of character.

I will PM you your colours, noting your request.

To use a colour, select the text you want in that colour then click the 'color' button and select the colour you want.

    Or

Put the text tab (Flashing marker where your text will appear) infront of the text you want to colour and click on the colour you want. Then click Close all tags.

    Eg:
    <b>Example Text</b>

    <i>Then add colour</i>

    <b>[colour=white]Example</b>

    <i>Then click close all tags</i>

    [COLOUR=white]Example Text[COLOR]

<i>Then you have your finished and coloured text, like so;</i>

    <span style='color:white'>Example Text</span>

    Confused? You will be.

    Eh...

Everyone seems to have really advanced weapons?
Can I upgrade my gun a notch or two?

    Also, aren't we starting today?

    The weapons are as follows:

    <span style='color:blue'>Nathanael (UK)
    -Palm daggers
    -Auto Rifle
    -Bolt Pistol</span>

    <span style='color:yellow'><u><b>John_Sheu</b></u>

I don't really won't people to have special and heavy weapons this early in the game. Their is no need for them. It only encourages me to put in bigger and nastier enemies...
Your weapons are all evenly matched, but if you want to change please PM me.

<i>You are in the lower hive going about your bussiness. Then suddenly the Hive shook, more then the minor tremors that had happened in the past. This time loose tiles fell from the ceiling and decades of dust was sent into the air.
The lights go out throughout the hive plunging your world into darkness. You manage to fumble blindly in to a room, taking cover.
It is a power generator room, cables run through here to the whole hive.
The Hive starts to shake again and the doorway collapses. You are stuck in there, in the dark.
Then the emergency lights come on. The room is lit with a pale blue glow. You see three other figures. It looks like you might be spending some time in here together.
One person turns to you. He is dressed in power armour. It's bulky and threatening. Fully enclosed with a helmet which has a built in respirator and two red slits for eyes. The armour has a badge on the chest. A two headed eagle with it's wings spread. Embossed in gold leaf. It is clear that he is an enforcer. He checks his bolt pistol and looks around, his face hidden by the enclosed helm he wears. Lifeless red eyes scan the room. They seem to peer right through you as he passes his glance over you.</i>

<span style='color:gray'>"Lowborn scum, everyone of you. I have scanned your face and matched each and everyone of you to the Hives database. You are all criminals, lawbreakers. I should kill you where you stand!"
"But there is hope for us all, I know of a way-out. Though it would be impossible for me to do it by myself. Help me and I shall erase your crimes from the Hives records. Give you a clean slate. What do you say?"</span>

<i>You find it hard to trust an Enforcer, but they are true to their word. He stands with is hand on his executioner bolt pistol's handle. His fingers lose, but ready.</i>

<b><span style='color:red'>"I will help you. Remember that it is only because I wish to survive, not because of my respect for what you represent, Enforcer. Also remember that if you do not stay true to your word, plasma burns like a thousand fires. You cannot kill all of us at once."

OCC: are the actions in present or past-tense? And do you use your character name for actions or your name?

OOC: Actions are present. It is what your charater does.
Character names are not needed, hopefully we know who you are by your colour.
Also, if you are in a seperate place to the others just put the name of where you are at the top of the list please.

<span style='color:yellow'>*I discreetly size up the Enforcer's armor, looking for weak spots or parts which look like they would restrict his agility*

<span style='color:yellow'>[The power armour the Enforcer wears is a completely enclosing suit. It is made from thick ceramite plates and would be heavy and cumbersome but for the electricity motivated bundles implanted in the armour that replicates the movements of the wearer and supplement his strength. Power armour is fully sealed to provide protection against gas weapons and harsh atmospheres. It also commonly includes numerous auxiliary systems such as communication, auto-sense, etc. There are no weak points and the armour is thick enough to stop 2/3 of all bullets.]</span>

<span style='color:gray'>"Do not attempt to threaten me, Trent Stramos. I am Enforcer Stern. I am the Law!"</span>

<i>The Enforcer then turns to Budtzing Abound. His hand still on his bolt pistol. You notice he has a power maul hanging by his side and storm shield attached to his left arm. The storm shield hums as it creates a low energy forcefield. Not strong enough to stop bullets but useful in hand-to-hand.</i>

<span style='color:gray'>"I am true to my word. Unlike you filth that inhabit these depths, I am trustworthy. If your crimes were any worse you wouldn't be standing here now. You are lucky they are petty thief’s, not murders."</span>

<i>He spits out his insults like a bad taste. It is clear he dislikes lawbreakers.</i>

OOC: I'm Blue, why are we here anyway?

<span style='color:blue'>"Let me get this straight, you can't do your dirty work by yourself so you get us to do it so we'll carry the smoking gun, correct? The law is not the law when people become the law, Enforcer Stern. Anyway, why do you trust us not to shoot you in the back when you walk ahead?"

OOC: There was an earthquake. You took cover in here and are trapped together.

<span style='color:gray'>"It is not my dirty work. It is my duty to uphold the the law. All I said is that I need help to escape. Do you want to get out of here alive or not?"</span>

<i>The normaly hot and stuffy room grows cold. You think you are imagine it until you see your's and the others breaths' steaming the air. The Enfocer seems to grow in stature, already 7"tall in his power armour he is an intimidating sight.</i>

<span style='color:gray'>"I do not work for any house! I am an Enforcer! It is my sworn duty to uphold the law. Not even the Ruling Families are above my scrutiny. I cannot be bought off or threatened or corrupted or negotiated with. So I would strongly suggest you co-operate Seneca, I do not need auto-senses to perceive what you are doing."</span>

<i>The air starts to warm up again. The room returning to be hot and stuffy. Enforcer Stern rest one hand on his bolt pistols grip, the other thumbs his power maul onto the 'idle' setting. It hums like a honey bee. And a turquise-blue energy field crackles around it. Suddenly Stern raises his bolt pistol at Seneca and fires. The bullet skims past him and hits a grimclaw rat behind him. The dog sized creature explodes into a mist. All that is left is the hand sized fangs and a red stain mixed with thick matted hair.</i>

<span style='color:gray'>"We will not last long in here. Already the air is thin." </span>

<i>As if to reinforce his words and after tremor strikes. Plaster falls from the celling coating the rubble strewn room in white dust. It is getting harder and harder to breathe.</i>

<span style='color:gray'>"There are two ways out. Though the catacombs below into the under-hive, then up and out."
"Or, through the ventallation shafts, past the coolant and heater systems, up into the middle hive."
"As a gesture of good will and to show it is no trap I will let you choose the way out."</span>

<span style='color:blue'>*Sees Stern raising his pistol*"What the hell!"
"Oh, I see. Let's go by the shafts, chances are they'll have more air and be safer than the catacombs. I don't believe in ghosts, but still don't want to disturb any gangers sitting down there." </span>

<span style='color:yellow'>"I second that proposal. The catacombs may be dangerous in an earthquake. I do suggest as a gesture of goodwill, though, that Enforcer Stern take the point. He is better equipped to deal with surprises than us."</span>
