*climbs out of the vent* "Ah... the mag-lift train system. Wish we had one of these further down." *goes to the vent to help the others climb out* "And Stern, which way to the nearest station? I rarely move about above the sub-Hive."
*Drags himself up and tries to remove as many of the nails as possible* "If we walk in any of these directions, we're bound to end up somewhere and Stern's badge will stop most questions."
*I pause at the apex of the vent and look out into the maglev tunnel, taking care though that I keep all body parts actually inside the vent, not the tunnel yet* "Well, what now?"
Sorry for my absence. I've been having problems at home. I will be moving out soon and may have no internet connection for a while.
OOC: Nathanael (UK), what direction are you walking in?
The Mag-Train System
The tunnel is made from ferracrete, several meters wide and just as high. The stone gray walls form a semi-circle with neon strips running the length of the celling, throwing a dim white light around the tunnel. A singel metal rail runs as far as the eye can see.
[You feel the rush of warm air blow over your face. Stern in his sealed armour hasn't seemed to notice anything.]
[You climb out of the vent. Stern stands waiting for you. Then he speaks.]
"You are right, scum. We could walk in either direction. This is a circle line after all. The closest station, 'Sloane Square' is one klick northbound. Or 'Edgware Road' is Southbound, 2.4 klicks away. Both are not far from 'The Core'. In The Core I can 'cleanse' your records for your actions in helping an Enforcer."
SUNRISE APARTMENTS Northbound
Lining the front of the collector these apartments increase rapidly in price as you go up the hive but are more expensive than the Core or Shadow Back. The Sunny's as they are known, tend to hold positions of government or wealthy guild merchants.
Each premises has a pinprick of pure sunlight from the outside channelled at a dawn crystal located in the centre of the room. The Dawn crystals come from ancient volcanic tubes located under the hive. They are able to amplify the light shone at them so it fills the room and can even store the excess light and release it when the light source is turned off.
THE CORE
The central kilometre strip of the Hive is home to most of the non-residential buildings. The system and planetary government main buildings are located here as well as the head offices of the Guilds, Corporations, Administratum and Ministorum.
SHADOW BACK Southbound
As the name suggests this part of the hive never sees any sun. The Shadbacks are often Administratum officials who have come to despise light and many districts haver very low light levels.
The low light levels are put to good use as the areas are home to fabulous light sculptures, wonderfully lit buildings and nocturnal birds and animals (most are scavengers).
The Vent
[In the tight confines of the vent the steel walls start to vibrate. As Stern starts to speak you can hear the rusteling in the joints of the shaft.]
*I crawl over to the opening of the vent into the maglev tunnel, again taking care to keep all limbs actually inside the vent, but I poise myself to leave out of the vent, if necessary, at a moment's notice.*
The end of the tunnel curves round. To the tunnels at the south five shadows can be made out. Blurs as they bound foward on all fours.
*Stern raises his bolt pistol and rapid fires into the depths of the tunnel.* "We have company, scum. Low life rats like yourself." *His bullets hit and one of the grimclaw rats and it explodes.*
The tunnel is lit by the mussel flash on Sterns bolt pistol. You see the four more rats closing on you.

BTW do the abbreviations before the numbers stand for?
I'm sorry to announce that I don't know whether my RPGs will be continuing as I will not be able to post for a while. I've been having problems at home and I've been living at a friends without access to a PC. I am in the process of moving out from my home. And will not have easy access to the internet for a month or so and will not be able to post.
