Ha ha, I remember drinking mix-ups down alleyways with mates before we could enter our local club. I had to wait until I was 15 before I could get served at the bar... ho hum how times have changed.
Not much of a comparison but I went out with a 15yo for a very short time when I was 18 and I didn't like the age gap much. She was very attractive and up for it... but there is a line I wasn't prepared to step over it in that instance.

Before anyone says anything, I've been in love with someone for <b>AGES</b> now. I mean love, not lust. We've never met, but we have plans to later this year. (Don't use this as an "attack point". If anything, relationships over the Internet focus more on the personality, attitude and intelligence of the people involved than relationships off the Internet) We're friends, but we've had a better relationship as friends than most people have as husband and wife.

Right now, I think your age gap will be a little big for that relationship. I myself am 16, and I KNOW if I tried to date a 16 year old, it couldn't be for anything but looks- those are the years almost all women are just stupid and crazy, with a nice gallon of immature. I'd say wait another year for her to be 14(or find out), then try, with you being 17.

Its not about age difference, its about maturity level and at that age people can sometimes be extremely mature... or 5 years away from being anything like maturity.
If she still plays with barbie doll's and listens to Westlife run as fast as you can. If she can actually hold a decent conversation and has a mature viewpoint on life... why not. Just be careful because personalities are extremely fragile at that age (at alot of ages in fact) and things tend to go wrong far quicker than you think... also (and heres an important one) make sure her parents like you. It sounds silly but you have to be trusted by them, if she's after a rebel that her parents hate she's probably one of those 'daft cow' types you find all over the place and have to avoid like the plague (tho its also possible her parents are evil in which case ignore that bit of advice... ah well, you get the general gist of it all).
