heres another idea for the mc, why not just use that spring jump thing(trampoline). its been used in all of super mario bros.(1-3,world,rpg) to jump farther. In RPG its used like a teleporter back to start dealio thingy.

With the door, you can have it creak open and the alien vanish into it, but with the springboard they'd just have to vanish as AFAIK you can't have them bounce on it. hehe cool chrono, might have to rescale it to make the y axis longer. so it will fit into the hit boxes, lol dont want to make it look like your floating over it when you jump on top of it.
anyways, chrono do you know how to make 3dsmax work on winme. i have 3dsmax 3 from my uncle like 4,5, 3 years ago (forgot how long) and it worked on win98 sd. I just got my thing upgraded to winme and now the thing wont work, any ideas how to get it on. lol i just remembered i had it after you showed that render.
ah oh well, hey chrono you know where i could dl a trial version of 3dsmax5? at the discreet site its only 3dsmax6 there. heh, the readme said it works for winME <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> , YAY, but 3dsmax6 wont work.

edit: hehe already done with the remake, first i noticed that i made some mistakes. For example, the star on top was too small, the ring on top was to tall, and the sphere on top was supposed to be scalled smaller.
heres the ms3d file, obj, and 3ds file for the starwand. its all zipped. use winzip and winrar or even window explorer to open it.if its ok with cookie, can someone optimize this or mesh. ill take the file off if you dont want it cookie.
i forgot to mention, i didnt do smoothing groups. so right now all the files are just one big smoothing group. um if its not a hassle, could someone do the smoothing groups while they are meshing this thing?

Mario arms, I won't call them final cause they still look dumb. The thing that irritates me the most right now would be the pinky. Looks weird and I dunno how to fix it.
why dont you use your own hand for a refference? ^_^ i would do it if knew how to model lolz the fingers look like they belong to a baby! increase the legnth of index, middle, and the ring finger.. bring down the thumb, and then give it joints.

But there's one question I want to ask (and I'm sorry if it has already been mentioned before): are you also going to do a conversion on the sounds? how bout this for the welder? i remembered someone saying to use the starwand for a welder. well here it is.

the star on top is just a 3 stacked cylinder, rescaled the top and bottom stack so it would look like its more rounded.
wait i thought if you changed the sparks that hte welder makes that would change the sparks that are made when a bullet hits the wall arent they botht he same spark?
