MedHead, you did metion that you do play computer/video games. You also stated that you do not play NS (rather odd, as this is the NS forum, but most of the off-topic kids don't play much anymore, so it's rather moot). I would like to know what games you do play, especially if you've ever played any RPGs. More comments when I get a reply.

Edit: It doesn't matter if none of them are fantasy; they're all just games, the theme doesn't matter in this regard.

Cause....
There's no reason for them to evolve.
Species just don't evolve for the heck of it, they respond to their environment. Except for genetic drift, but that doesn't change the population much, just percentages of alleles in the population.
And also, it takes a LOOOONG time for a species to evolve any recognizable differences. Maybe the chimpanzees ARE "evolving" as we speak, just it's not noticeable because they've only been in zoos for like 10 generations max.

That is the #1 misunderstood part of evolution, we didn't evolve from apes or monkeys: Both we and apes/monkeys had a common ancestor somewhere along the evolutionary line, just at one point the line split, and on one side we have humans today, and on the other side we have apes/monkeys today. There you go.

I have a theory about the D&D stuff.

Maybe some high up guy realized that christians have a bad image of being boring people and said "My God, if they play D&D they'll be nerds too, we can't have that!"

So, from that day forward, all forms of nerdery have been associated with witchcraft

If you did that you'd be my personal savior. Just make sure to tape it and send me a copy.

Oh and as for witchcraft, computers would have been seen as witchcraft only a few centuries ago. A metal box that "thinks," must be a creation of the devil.

Responding to that statement:

Scientists do not believe they know everything, because if they did believe that, then they would stop working. They know that all our knowledge must be tweaked, and that there is always room to learn.

Also, you said "only god knows everything". Subsequently, you are not God. Maybe God knows everything because he/she/it has been around long enough to research, discover, and decipher exactly how the universe works.

Nothing makes sense if you think about it. A mystical being that has existed forever and created humans for fun?

Gases that came out of nowhere and somehow collided with each other to form an entire universe?

People need to stop worrying about so much stuff. We can never prove anyone else wrong in these matters until we're dead anyway, in which case the Religious people can smile smugly at us from heaven, or the scientific types can gladly rot in peace in their graves knowing that religious people are doing the same.

None of it matters at all in this life. If there is a God, and he's forgiving as people say, then why should he comdemn people for not obeying rules made up over 2000 years ago? He gave Man free will, and then denies them to use it in any way they want?

Religion has been used as a method of keeping the population under control over the years. People did what the king said because if they didn't, they'd be killed and go to Hell (in their opinion) whereas if they did what they were told, they'd go to heaven. Seems like the King wins in that situation.

I'm neither religious or an atheist (or however you spell it). I disagree with religions points and quite a few scientific points too. I live my life as i want to, i try not to do things i deem bad. If there is an afterlife, maybe i'll be rewarded and go have a drink with God at some bar, sit back and discuss a few things. If there isn't an afterlife, then i won't think anything, because i'll be dead.

Anyway, arguing about your various beliefs never solves anything. People on both sides get lost in their faith (i'd define Faith as believing something) so much that they can't accept the other side's viewpoints, yet continue to try and change them. There's no reason to try and correct a religious person on their beliefs, as they're happy. And there's no reason to try and correct a scientific person on their beliefs either, because they're happy too.

But that chick guy is just nuts, i'll agree with that.
