Scan for viruses.. and adware.. Search for "Adaware" and use that program and scan for adware..

When "System <b>Idle</b> Process" says it's 'using' 99% of the CPU, that means 99% of the CPU power is <b>not</b> being used.

It's actually explorer.exe doing this? Because "System Idle Process" runs at 99% usually with no problems on my system... are you seeing troubles in performance or is it just concerning you that it "says" it's using loads of CPU power?
~ DarkATi
yes it do
the pc go all slow and take 2 mins to open up any program....
tho i can just restart and it be back to normal for some time
and 'System Idle Process' is always runing 90%-99%
pfft, explorer.exe hangs on a normal system every now and then, doesn't have to do with viruses. Just "End Process" and start it again, no harm done.
well ok u can end... it!!
but i wanna know why expolorer.exe do this and become all **y
i see noreson why it should do this unless if its some hardware thats failing
Also you can use a different shell. Try litestep.
Lite step?
A btw...

If you have 2, try unplugging one, and load it. If it still has the high resource use, try with the other RAM stick.
And if it is still stuck at high resources consumption, could be the disk.
If it does return to normal though, your RAM stick is baaaad.
but gana get an otehr one as 512 aint that much
so its porbly not that!!!
gana test lightstep thingy
and what is so wrong with norton ?!?!??!?!?
cuz u cant afford it?
and version91x

1) Runs slowly for an anti-virus software
2) Does not pick up on all the virus/spy ware/malware
3) I have had it cause random deletion of windows reg keys ( I don't know why)
4) See 1-3 repeated about seven times
:-)
Avg or trend micro for virus scan.. use AVG if you can't get online, or trend-micros if you can. As for the Ad-aware and Spy bot.. both are very good, together they pwn. :-)
Other then that Norton also tends to have a nasty habit of not liking the spyware dectotors.. aka Ad-aware/spy bot. Althought it could just have been the ME computer I was working on... not sure on that one.
and it found it for me
as i belive as u said it delete randomly win reg files
mabey they were viruses u dled?!
Anyway.. since Norton doesn't detect spy-ware/malware.. I can see why I prefer my PC-Cillin to that :-)
cuz u cant afford it? <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Hahahahaha
A little rule of thumb for you. Just because something is more expensive, doesn't mean it does the job any better.
Norton is just a bloated piece o' crap.
Solutions:
-Download <a href='http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10045910.html?part=69274&subj=dlpage&tag=button' target='_blank'>Ad-aware 6.0 build 181</a> and update it, then scan your pc.
- Download <a href='http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download' target='_blank'>Spybot S&D 1.3</a> , and follow the nice wizard.
- If you don't have a good virusscanner already:
Download :<a href='http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php' target='_blank'>AVG</a>
Its free, and as far as I know it is a very good Virusscanner.
If none of this might help (I doubt it), you should make a backup of important files and just reinstall your pc, nice and clean.
as i have said
i have serched (afte i updated em...) those found are gone
and it still went to 99%
and i got no viruses
Sorry, but I just had to point this out.
