Yeah right, just because Microsoft had a button more on the mouse 10 years ago, Apple would still have 1 button mice today? More like uber cool mice which hover and are super-precise. Well it's more reasonable than you think, with all that free time they would have from being a stable platform and all.

An unstable platform keeps you on your toes.

You Mac users are so smug in your safe little world, but as soon as something breaks, you'll start to panic. Not us Windows users though, we're so used to our systems crapping all over us we're READY for things to go haywire; we even get nervous when nothing is going wrong.

I'm with Esuna here for some reason.

And XP can be just as stable as a Mac not to mention the only reason that Linux and Mac OS X don't have these big security holes is because they haven't found them yet. If I recall there was not that long ago a large security hole in the Mac OS X........

actualy it is that no one bothers attacking Macs/*nix in the same way that they do with windows.

No one realy writes viri for other OSes
  • RaVeRaVe Join Date: 2003-06-20 Member: 17538Members
Aye. After all, who'd want to infect like 20% of the computers in the world which are running Linux, when you could infect 80% that are running on Windows?

But yeah, if Linux were the big OS back then, we wouldn't see Microsoft catching this many virii. We'd see Linux get them instead because it is more readily available.

BTW, have fun with them X-Boxes at work, MonsE. Hope they got Ninja Gaiden there.

hey I don't think Microsoft has any sort of monopoly or anything near it with mice. I'm sure Logitech has about as large a cut. That's what they say on their mouse boxes at least...

Whatever really is the case, the only reason macs go with 1 button is because they look "so simple." They still have two mouse buttons compatible I believe. Remember, iMac's main argument is "put on desk, put power cable, press on" while computer is "put Central Unit under desk, put screen on table, , put keyboard and mouse in front put all cables necessary following the foolproof color marks and if necessary look at the manual.

On those OS's you have the privelege of fiddling. On Windows, its a requirement, lest your computer attain sentience, delete all your files, and assemble an army of nanobots from it's case, which ultimately destroy the world.
