This is AWESOME. About A hundred marines storming a bridge, artillery flying overhead and smashing into the turrets... battle chatter, water affects, the mean dropship lady calling us losers....then blowing up from a flak cannon I missed...

Anyone want to get a multiplayer game going? I just beat single player. Awsome game. Edit: I think I'll ask in #naturalselection. Bah cost me a pound from pound shop, id have to say its one of the better pounds ive spent.
The idea is that all war has ended and the world is a nice peaceful place, yet relics from the old wars have gone underground massing armys to fight again.
Now in response to the threat they revive one of the last adaptive crusiers, you must re learn war if you are to suceed.
Thier is a twist later on in the game but im not gonna spoil it.
Excellent game top notch gfx for an older game, very hard to complete (you get alot of gameplay for your £1) with very good chatter as Fam said, units complement each other on kills and also insult each other when they die
I also liked warzone 2100 alot, you had zillions of possible combinations of units for all uses, you had timelimits on your missions to force you to act and not sit around massing an army behind alot of turrets.
As for GC1 i found it to be a good game but lacking in the fact you couldnt build anything its the same as Starship Troopers in that respect just alot better.
I might play the demo of GC2 once it comes out on a demo disc since im limited by 56k.
Ground control 2 looks sick.. however it wont run on my computer amd athlon 600mhz, geforce 2 mx 400
ground control 2 looks good, but i really want an infantry game... with limited mortar etc, but military. a mod for that, taking out all the tanks etc and just mucking around with infantry... *drools*

Ok. I redownloaded the file off their website. I reinstalled. And it still tells me it 'Failed to Download Update' when I try and connect to multiplayer. Anyone know how to solve this?
*Sigh* He has a link to the MP demo on like, the first line of his post. That said, you get 2 tutorials, a SP mission, three MP maps, two sides, and several AIs (Which I can't figure out how to set on 'easy' ) in the MP demo he has. Why the hell are you all going to their website?
Because the multiplayer doesn't work. I though it might have been a faulty dowload. If anyone can tell me how to get around the 'Failed to Download Update' when you try and connect to Massgate, I would be greatly indebted.
Edit: To help, I'll even attach a picture of the error.
Edit 2: I found my stupid problem. It turns out you need administrator priveliges to download the updtate, but noooooooo, they're not going to tell you that. They're going to keep giving you that stupid little error message.
The graphics in this game are top notch and it runs extremely well on my computer I'm happy to say for once I played the first GC to death, looks like I'll be doing the same with this one.
The stupid little error message I keep getting is "Failed to create an account with the username" thingy when I tried to create an account (username Bogglesteinsky). The email and password were not the problem, and changing the username to something shorter didn't help. Their website has no sort of trouble shooting whatsoever. Can anybody help?
the graphical detail of this game is insane i remember the first one was great im downloading now to try this one

BTW don't waste time playing against the AI, they're hard as hell without a difficulty setting. I'm trying to set up a few units to attack and they run in with three little scouts and steal all my victory locations. IMO it's got a terrible mix of fast-paced and slow-paced combat, that probably won't work too well with most people used to RTS games.

That's the problem. Look at the single player maps. Now wipe out all buildings, bunkers, and cover. You now have a multiplayer map. 'Defense' is simply amassing as many troops as you can to stand around and do nothing. In single player I used a team of marines in the trees to ambush vehicles. Not gonna happen in multiplayer.
