I spent about 10 hours yesterday and today working on the map, and it now has significantly less geometry than it did before I started. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> The upshot of this is that there are now no large areas that suck (aka. areas that are unfinished <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> ), and there are fewer areas that I still need to create.
I met a guy on friday at the Pittsburgh go association meeting who is a much better ns player than I (that's easy to be, but this guy is amazing) and he's given me some invaluable suggestions for the layout. I hacked up large portions of the map and rearranged things, and I think the map will play a lot better as a result. There are only two significant rooms that need to be made before I'll release it: Databurst Transmission, and Airlock Hive.

As far as screens are concerned, think of it like this. With the hive being that high up, will it still heal things on the floor?
IMO as a competitive player, the alien team should be at an advantage when fighting in a hive room because its just a few steps to get healed. But I fear that with the hive being in that position, you're forcing players to stand directly underneath it to be in range of healing. I can't wait to play this map though, good luck.
that hiveroom would be so awesome is thered be some infestation on the floor aswell, and thered be vents running through the computer (which would be partially infested on the inside aswell) from the floor all the way up to the hive. like maybe 2 vents. maybe make 2 vent openings around the hive and 2 down near the floor. then make them all run to the central point, kinda like ventilation conduit in the nancy vent system, where the hive would heal and where chambers could be safely placed and fades could gestate there. but thats just a wild idea. but it'd be <i>very</i> cool <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Anyone who doesn't think this map is sexy whould be slapped with a wooden squirrel.
All I ask for is that it have good flame flow design and high <i>entropy</i>. Vents and pipes are goood. And more choices/entropy is always a good thing when it comes to maps.
