Well, for me, "the dad" is a 6 foot tall really muscular Italian guy with a really thick mustache and obsessively groomed hair. He dresses extremely neat and wears suits most of the time I've seen him, cause he's a work-a-holic.
On the contrary, I have a full beard and a shock of hippie hair. I dress in all manner of punk or whatever you want to call it clothing - dickies, Misfits t-shirts, lots of bracelets, Etnies shoes, yada yada. We aren't exactly two of a kind, you see. It wasn't all that bad, but he's a pretty intimidating dude.

First, there can't be much bad about sending her an email, other than if she does like you too, she might have rather you said everything in person. I'm sure she would understand why, I mean I totally understand if you needed to send her an email so you could say how you felt without being completely nervous, though even that will still be there when thinking what to say.
Though I would advise you to try and do things in person whenever possible. I broke up with a girl over the phone, for various reasons, and hear nothing but a blood curtling scream, and a "click!". About 5 minutes later my very good friend who hooked us up, called me back and asked WTH did I say to her. Apparently she had quarterbacked the cellphone into her eye leaving it nice and black. Obviously I wouldnt have wanted this to happen to me if I did it in person, but I would rather it would have been my eye than hers because she didn't deserve it. Well, besides hooking me up with a girl who is going to go insane if you break up with her. I know this doesnt apply much to your situation, but, remember to try and do things in person whenever you can. She will appreciate it greatly.

Well, I haven't even met mine, but I already know- he's dominated by the Missus. She controls him totally, and she's the man of the house. And she's mean, emotionally abusive to my hopeful, and frankly, if she was a man, I would have castrated her by now whether I liked this girl or not.
You can castrate females.. it just usually makes them a bit meaner... so that probably isn't a good idea. Silly testosterone (sp?).

In case she doesn't like you - I would say don't tell her, because it's stress on her mind, especially if you're such good friends. If you really must, just .. try and make it sound a bit casual, like it's not that big a deal that it didn't happen, something like that... just so you and her both know, but not enough that she'll feel horrible about it.
You guys are all wrong, best way to get a girl is to simply set thier m_pBoyFriend pointer on their instance of CPerson to your instance of pPerson, then set the m_iBase to whatever you feel most confortable with.
Its easy.

If she is as special as you say she is, if you to get on as well as you think, then it won't affect anything if she doesn't like you back in the way you like her.
Whatever happens you have to let her know otherwise you'll be kicking yourself for missing a possible opportunity. At least that way you get it off your chest and it is more than possible to be friends with someone who fancies you (or the other way around).
As was said earlier though, if you get a no don't keep going back and hoping for a yes, just accept it. I promise you that if you just treat her like a friend you will eventually lose those feelings for her and you'll just end up really close mates and it is much better to have a good friend than have a friend you feel awkward around.

i'm behind quaunaut on this one.. Q, obviously you haven't had this situation too many times before in yer life. whatever you do now will contribute to your experience and subsequently supplement your knowledge of relationships and interpersonal activity.
even if it doesn't work out with this dream girl, you'll have experience for the future. i say go ahead and tell her how you feel. if she doesn't like it, then it's her loss - you're obviously prepared to be a devoted friend and companion (although maybe not a lover... but we could definitely help you out there too).
ultimately, this comes down to what YOU want and how to go about getting it. if you feel in your heart that you MUST tell this girl how you feel, then do it.
and if you take all our advice and everything goes well, you're required by NS.org forum law to submit a picture of her.

An update on my love life... I now have to decide between Anna, Laura, Karin, Charlotte, Amanda and... well I wont go into details.
I also have to avoid my stalkers, Clare, Rhea, Sam and Sophie. Especially the last two as Sam was a drunken mistake and sophie looks like Jabba the Hut... I was simply nice to her for Fluff's Sake! Since when does that mean I fancy her? Scary girls. Oh and I have to explain to all my mates that I really didn't do anything with clare, she's making it all up...
Girls are scary things! Fun though.
Not even gonna list some of the others things happening in my love life, lets just say its amazing how tired you can get of being jumped on by horny girls that you just thought were friends! It's cool though.
Gonna delay my decisions till the 15 when I get back from holiday, getting a GF before I head will completely ruin half the fun (I don't cheat, can't stand people who do).

Also, getting that very speech didn't feel like it made me that much of a nicer person. "Yeah, I know how to piece what you're saying together with the way you look at me. Let me pretend I'm not hurting your feelings." Although most people don't actually have that much of an interest in just staying friends (beyond just staying near), regardless of what they say - if you were really going to stay friends for a while, the "not gonna happen" bit has to be spoken out loud someday. It builds a kind of mistrust otherwise, which isn't conducive to friendship at all.
Extremely awkward as it may be, if she's really not supposed to feel horrible about it, it should just be gotten out of the way at some point. Disclaimer : I'm horrible at relationships. This "advice" is from any objective perspective entirely worthless. So you probably want to go with Athenas approach.

Gonna delay my decisions till the 15 when I get back from holiday, getting a GF before I head will completely ruin half the fun (I don't cheat, can't stand people who do).
I don't know. I've had kind of crappy experiences with that approach - if noone takes the iniative, nothing ever really happens
