Erm... Could people start reading each others posts? Some interesting points were raised, yet, the most of an answer people are two letters or general ignorance.
i dont believe there is a real large percentage of games being played without team work , thou you do get alot of new NS players each day which are most likely from CS or another HL Mod that are yet to understand how much different the game is played compared to CS etc. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

The reason we see more rambos doesn't really have to do with an influx of CS players or whatnot, its just that NS is a very different game than it was back then, and threads like these don't seem to take that into account. In early game marines need to spread out and get nodes much faster than they did in 1.04, so this means your gonna have more marines splitting up into smaller groups, even *shock* ramboing. And its not just in pubs either, you need to have marines go there own routes to get nodes backside alot of the time in competitve play. There didnt seem to be as much of the whole *sneaking a phase gate* in 1.04 either because it was hard to pull off, but is now REQUIRED if your going to make a comeback, as marines cant simply walk over the aliens mid-game.
I was recently talking to a friend who still plays CS and NS, and I asked him what the difference between the two. His answer was that he sometimes see team work in non-clan games while he is playing CS. The NS community was officially dead when people in the CS community started to say that the NS community was just as bad [as the CS community]. Wether we realize it or not, will accept or reject it, we are now a bunch of CS players (and I dont't mean that literally, I mean we are now guilty of all the things this community used to deride the CS community about), or at least the vast majority of us are.
Now I know a lot of you will disagree with this, and in most of your cases, your not guilty of being like CSers (this forum is almost like a last baston of fun NS), but look at how many people are playing NS right now, what precentage of them have no sense of etiquette, atmosphere, fairplay and teamwork? That [the fact that most NS players are like CS players] isn't an opinion, just go to any random server (not one that you regular) tell me you did not feel like your in one of the nine circles of hades.

In CS pubs, "teamwork" consists of somebody saying where they're going when the round starts and everybody else maybe following them or maybe not. That's basically it. Even in the crappiest of NS pub servers, it takes much more teamwork than that just to play the game at all. And in the higher quality pub servers out there the teamwork is at least comparable to PUGs. If he thinks there's never a shred of teamwork in the NS community he really needs to find a decent server and stick with it.
Your right Zek, there is plenty of team work in NS.
My friend wasn't be literal, he was just making a point as to what the community is like, a shadow of it's smaller, friendlier and more proffesional self, a time when Newb bashing was relatively prevelent but was the worst sin of community at the time.
[QcBs]God Killer, I did not mean the community is made up CS players literally, just that the community seems to be emultating the CS community; as a memeber of this forum it is unlikely that you are part of the problem, but more likely a hapless victim (even if you wouldn't think you where) of it.
