Dixons are a bunch of clueless rip-off merchants. Most of the staff don't even understand what they're trying to sell ><
It's funny... my parents were kind of taken aback when they heard me swear; this story came on the news and for the second time in my life I screamed abuse at a TV programme. The media can't even tell the consoles apart, they think they're all called 'playstation' and made by sony ~growl~
Funnily enough the first TV programme I went nutty at was a channel 4 'documentary' where a smug prat went off to various 'experiments' into how violent video games effected people. I've never seen such biased, loaded, flawed experiments in all my sweet little life >< At one point he did an experiment where he had to do tasks and if he failed the real subject had to punish him by holding his hand in ice cold water. The idea was that the length of time was an indicator of sadistic tendancies. When the gamer who played mortal kombat did the dipping the presenter goaded him with sarcastic remarks like 'oooooh this is soo sore' and the subject was understandably annoyed with the jerk and so kept his hand in longer =P The day after the channel 4 website section about this programme was flooded with such firey hatemail you needed to be coated in asbestos to even type the URL lol.
As far as I can see it's just another stupid example of the 'not my fault' mentality currently developing in society. When the law comes a knocking or something goes wrong, don't take responsibility! blame a scapegoat!!! you didn't scald yourself with coffee because you're an idiot, it's because the coffee was hot! You didn't kill someone because you're a raving psychopath left unmonitored by parents, it's the games!!!
Some people should be sterilised just out of principal -.-

Violent video games do effect some people. Many people who can not differentiate between reality and fiction are effected. The average teenager is not effected as he/she understands that video games are fiction and that the world is not about killing people. The main cause of this event is that the parents let him play an 18+ video game. The kid was obviously a sick person who quite possibley could have been effected by the videogame. The videogame may have been the reason that he went out and killed the boy BUT the parents were the ones who allowed there son to play Manhunt. It all comes back to the parents.

The Daily Mail, pah! Pah! I almost wish Manhunt-style-death on Daily Mail readers, for being such sheep. If the Daily Mail said that the Internet caused Breast Cancer (by misquoting, and being generally anti-change under a patina of respectability), then you would awake to find a load of middle aged, middle class, middle income, middle intelligence, suburbian drones trying to push something through parliament to get the internet banned. And all asylum seekers thrown out, while theyre at it.
Apologies to anyone whose parents read the Daily Mail. Hopefully you will get better parents some time. Maybe for christmas.

When an idiot gets some form of logic, he treats it like a toy. Then he almost instantly misuses it in some fashon to "prove" somthing incredibly stupid. Then, other people who have a similar "grasp" on it agree with him. This is how things like this happen. It makes me often wonder if people are too smart for their own good. They have the intellect, but they don't seem to have the logical facilities to use it efficently.

You know what makes this even more mindbogglingly idiotic? The BBFC rating that appears on games in the UK is so obvious as to whom the directed audience are that missing it is kind of hard. IF ANY game gets banned because of things like this happening, then I'm gonna go looking for the reset button for this planet.

In the UK, I didn't think it was illegal to sell 18 rated games to under-18s. If this is the case, perhaps the laws here need to be changed to enforce this.
However, I'm surprised Blunkett hasn't presented a law that outlaws all video games. Because they obviously breed terrorists.

I've never seen such biased, loaded, flawed experiments in all my sweet little life ><
At one point he did an experiment where he had to do tasks and if he failed the real subject had to punish him by holding his hand in ice cold water. The idea was that the length of time was an indicator of sadistic tendancies. When the gamer who played mortal kombat did the dipping the presenter goaded him with sarcastic remarks like 'oooooh this is soo sore' and the subject was understandably annoyed with the jerk and so kept his hand in longer =P
The day after the channel 4 website section about this programme was flooded with such firey hatemail you needed to be coated in asbestos to even type the URL lol.
