I have allready pre-ordered doom3. That means i gonna get the game + doom3 wallpaper for my room and a t-shirt. About the t-shirt im not sure but i think its the biggest size like for an elephant t-shirt. I hopes i can wear my doom3 t-shirt. If it's too large i gonna save it for like five years in my closet and then im gonna wear it. lolz

Gah, i need it now! I've been hearing conflicting dates as to it's release. play.com and amazon.co.uk both say 13th August release date, but some people that have preordered through GAME (EB in the UK) have had emails confirming a 6th August release and so on. This is why i'm heading up to town to EB to see if i can get a definate release date in stores.
Another plus, i <i>might</i> be getting an early copy, i've a friend who works in blockbuster, and they sell games, so not only will he get me a discount, but he may be able to get it for me a few days early. Bonus.
I was always looking forward to Doom 3, in a way, the same way i looked forward to Quake i guess. I usually take id's releases thinking that the story or atmosphere won't be all it's cracked up to be, but a fun game, but having watched the trailers, G4 feature, etc, i can honestly say i can't be more excited about it. It looks extremely nice, it looks scary, and it looks like they've actually put a lot of effort into making it a great single player game.

(it might be gamespot now I'm not to sure) Although this may sound wierd, one of my friend's aunts is a district manager of the store, and so he can get games way before they come out for a cheaper price then anyone else. When we were much younger he got the pokemon games like a week before they actually came out for like $10. Maybe I could persuade him to get me a copy of doom3...

Heh, a few torrents claiming to be Doom 3 are floating around. Another is being seeded by a lone individual who has a fairly poor connection. There are 12,000 peers.

Not a clue, but having been into GAME / EB today and seeing their large Doom 3 poster advertising the 13th, who knows?
Unfortunately that's what i'll have to survive on. The reply we got was that it is confirmed and indeed true that DOOM 3 will only run on Windows machines that have windows 2000 or XP and not lower. Yeah, but it's ok for you, you only have to wait 2 days until the release, we have to wait another 12 days until it graces our stores.

Well, considering the requirements are so HIGH I don't think win98 can support the hardware <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->. Well, the bare minimum but since the newest versions of DX are not supported on it... yeah.
