    As stated earlier...

If you have the urge to shell out $20 of your hard earned cash, you *should* have a certain care for the game (unless you like to just give out cash for no reason, which in that case, PM me for my PayPal acct, and you can give me some cash for the heck of it too). That being said, no there isn't a "code of conduct" for the consties or the now-disbanded veteran groups... but there is a level of respect for the game that should be in those players. I know I donated because I believe in the game a great deal, and think it's just incredible.

I don't expect respect or anything from anyone because they see my icon in the players list on the server. I just like to see my name look all purty <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I've seen extremely poor behaviour from a tiny minority of constellation members (no names mentioned). There's no requirement for them to behave any differently from anyone else, so expect to find annoying jerks, no matter what icon they have by their name.

Vets seem to be the worse for being cocky, and that's MOST vets, not just 1 or 2.

Where you did not include how there were little to no attempt to organize/filter the competition or clans/clan members involved.  In fact, two people were supposed to do the work that should have been assigned to 10-20 at least.

Also, the continuation of the expansion in the disorganization of the PT group was achieved after the vet program was put out of its misery.

This history isn't nearly detailed enough to tell the whole truth about the full extent of the failure that was the veteran program and 2.1/3.0 closed beta playtesting.  That would require one to two pages worth of documentation.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

True that the "entire" history would take more space, but it's accurate enough to give someone not involved an idea of what the vets were, and why there were so many, what the original intention was etc....

...I personally used to want to be a vet. Back in the 1.04 vet days- if you saw a vet icon, you knew you were up against the best NS had to offer. It was always fun with them around.

...but the thing is, there are just as many idiots in Const as there is in Vet, and that there is as regular NS players. What NS right now needs is a community manager- less a PR guy than a guy that makes sure things stay the way they should be in the community, and to arrange things appropriately. NS has gone through some recent bludners, but a simple redo of how the handling of the community is going would make the community go back to the way it was.

20$ spent on making nubs stop whining "cheat, hax, omglol, nub" at u, every time u own htem... It's cut the whine down probably 85% on my behalf.. <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Sounds strangely like Nemesis Zero's job... Community liason...

However, you can't force people to be polite, considerate or helpful. You can't stop griefers or ragers, or cheaters by simply having a person who handles the community. Nem's hands are tied in these examples.

AFAIK Community Liason has to do with websites, forums, IRC channels etc (the places where a community gathers) not the actual servers. Having a person or persons trawl the servers demanding people be nice to everyone wouldn't work. It'd be the equivalent of GM's in online RPGs. They can't be on everywhere at once to see every single infraction of whatever rules people are or would be expected to adhere to while on an NS server and thus it would cause even more problems with people complaining about "person x did this and there was no one telling him/her to stop" etc.

Also you can't force people to act a certain way or do certain things on their servers. The majority of servers are paid for and run by players. You wouldn't be too happy if some person from your local government came into your home & started telling you not to put your feet up while watching TV or to use coasters for your tea/coffee mugs or put the toilet seat down after you've emptied your bladder. Same applies to peoples servers which they pay for and admin & maintain.
